This is pretty much why we’re where we are. People flag down cops to come arrest looters, cops come running and handcuff black business owners.

Not my words, from a tweet (Mike Hixenbaugh):

God I love Houston. An urban trail riding club, Nonstop Riders, has just rolled up to the downtown protest. Here’s Marcus Johnson of Houston’s Fifth award, fist raised in the air. “We’re here representing for all our black brothers and sisters.”

That’s almost as racist as the painting of a polar bear in a snowstorm

But the negro term does one up it.

What if the white painting is a cracker in a cracker factory? Nah. The black one is worse. Never mind.

Minneapolis City Council member describes police as a protection racket
Politicians who cross the MPD find slowdowns in their wards. After the first time I cut money from the proposed police budget, I had an uptick in calls taking forever to get a response, and MPD officers telling business owners to call their councilman about why it took so long.

60% of you should just move up here. Let the meth and killer cops take care of the rest. Then just stroll home and chill. We party here on the trails all summer

"Look at the faces of those rioting. They are of every race, religion, and creed. What they all have in common is they are of the demographic most impacted by the current economic recession. Job losses, income destruction, financial pressures, and debt create tension in the system until it explodes.
It has been the same in every economy throughout history. While the rich eat cake, the rest beg on street corners for scraps. Eventually, those most disenfranchised and oppressed storm the castle walls with “pitchforks and torches.”"

"As we are witnessing, the United States is not immune to social disruptions. The source of these problems is compounding due to the public’s failure to appreciate “why” it is happening.
Eventually, as has repeatedly occurred throughout history, the riots will turn their focus toward those in power.
That, as they say, is when “s*** gets real.”"

This is also the result of twenty years of political fear to say anything or do anything against the interest of "first responders" since 9/11. Woe to any local politician who questions the sanctity of cops and fireman, and rejects their demands for ever increasing wages and budgets, even though their town in nowhere will never see a terrorist attack. We have cops here that make well into seven figures after a fairly short period of service, and retire at a young age with 100% pensions with COLA, all for writing traffic tickets and keeping domestic disputes private and discreet.

The One Police Reform That Both The Left & Right Support

Some amazing examples of shit cops have done and the courts say their hands are tied, nothing they can do, and they get off scot free.

The attorney general from 30 years ago is the same as now. Pretty scary huh? He has been paramount to the erosion of democracy.

This guy sums it up pretty nicely. From what I've gleaned this is an older video from the beginning of May from facefuck so I found it on the youtube instead.

Guy pretty much predicts the current state of affairs.

I would tend to agree. I live 20 minutes south of Saratoga Springs and have spent a lot of time there in different settings. While there are asshats everywhere, that sort of comment would not fly well in most Saratoga Springs circles.

The downstate track season folks tend to sea Saratoga as their 6 week playground during track season.
