Can also sue in court if actual harm can be proven.

But nothing requires the legislatures to codify changes implemented by Executive.

You know like how representative government works in our country.

Last night the local news stood in the parking lot of a Tri-cities grocery store and asked people how they they felt about the dawn of a new presidential era.

3 out of 4 people expressed abject terror and feared for their safety from all the illegals and muslims Biden will be unleashing on them and of course..... socialism. One wondered how she would survive the next 4 years until Trump could be reelected.

It's odd how so many Trump-appointed judges rejected Trump challenges to the election results. Maybe Adickwood Rider believes in the Qanon theory that those Trump appointed judges were secretly deep state democrats intent on promoting child pedophilia in the basement of Hillary's pizza shop.

Just a tad amusing that Trump thought that by appointing constitutionalists to the bench would help him circumvent the constitution. Just goes to show how little he knows.

What the Dems really have to learn is that trying to build a coalition by pandering to various groups inevitably runs into problems when the groups' aims or means conflict or when some group feels it's not getting the love they deserve compared to some other group. Instead they need to focus on equality and lifting all boats. i.e. Unity

I mean, "constitutionalists" in this sense really means right-wingers who squint at the constitution until it looks like whatever Mitch McConnell wants. And that is continued looting and graft, just with a little more subtlety than Trump was able to bring to the table.

I thought the whole early, mail in etc voting thing was done under the premise of Covid limiting access to voting, hence why judges and election committee's were able to pass the rules and not State legislatures.

No, many States have had early and mail in voting long before the Rat-flu raised its ugly snout.

I seriously doubt they will be able to pass that off again, so some sort of actual legislation is going to have to be passed for it to pass muster during the next election. I honestly don't think this is going to be a challenge to do, but who knows,

Yes, my wife and I make an evening of it when we get our mail-in ballots. Look up the various local media endorsements for each candidate / measure, discuss, and vote. I think it leads to a more nuanced approach to voting. I could see how someone in a voting booth with no access to outside information is more likely to just vote straight R or D.

But while mail-in voting has become a very hot topic nationwide, here in Oregon it’s old news. In fact, Oregon voters made mail-in ballots the state’s standard system more than 20 years ago. And it first got the green light for local state elections back in 1981.

There is no voting happening for some time, so they can work on it down the road. They are on top of the important stuff that can't wait.

I think I'm partially to blame for why you're getting so much push back. My only point to you was that you were incorrect when you said that the approaches that states took for voting under pandemic conditions did not go through their state legislatures. They did and rest assured it was on the up and up. As GM pointed out, confirmed by over 60 court cases much to the dismay of some.
