America Burning- What’s it Like Where You Live?
The legislatures have the right to pass law that supercedes executive action but they dont have to. Up to them.
Can also sue in court if actual harm can be proven.
But nothing requires the legislatures to codify changes implemented by Executive.
You know like how representative government works in our country.

There's a lot of country folks who aren't crazy. Nut jobs need to sit down. They will.

What the Dems really have to learn is that trying to build a coalition by pandering to various groups inevitably runs into problems when the groups' aims or means conflict or when some group feels it's not getting the love they deserve compared to some other group. Instead they need to focus on equality and lifting all boats. i.e. Unity

I mean, "constitutionalists" in this sense really means right-wingers who squint at the constitution until it looks like whatever Mitch McConnell wants. And that is continued looting and graft, just with a little more subtlety than Trump was able to bring to the table.

01-21-2021, 12:51 PM #11057You responded to things I never said. But if I have to spell that out for you....I thought the whole early, mail in etc voting thing was done under the premise of Covid limiting access to voting, hence why judges and election committee's were able to pass the rules and not State legislatures.
I seriously doubt they will be able to pass that off again, so some sort of actual legislation is going to have to be passed for it to pass muster during the next election. I honestly don't think this is going to be a challenge to do, but who knows,
Dems seem more concerned with DACA and amnesty currently and not the golden goose that brought them to power currently.
And that right there is why so many people have you on ignore. Personally I find you to be more amusing than a Troll so I keep you around for the humor.I have been in this State for 30 years and I am willing to admit that I am part of the problem.

Yup. I've encountered just as many liberal farmers from old pioneer families as I have have conservative transplants and the same went for when I worked in a large law firm in Seattle.
Re: mail in voting - as someone who has enjoyed the convience of voting from my kitchen table for the past 13 years I highly recommend it and suggest it be de rigueur for the entire country.“When you see something that is not right, not just, not fair, you have a moral obligation to say something. To do something." Rep. John Lewis

Yes, my wife and I make an evening of it when we get our mail-in ballots. Look up the various local media endorsements for each candidate / measure, discuss, and vote. I think it leads to a more nuanced approach to voting. I could see how someone in a voting booth with no access to outside information is more likely to just vote straight R or D.

I am almost forty, have voted since I was 18, and have never voted in person in the three states I have called home.

But while mail-in voting has become a very hot topic nationwide, here in Oregon it’s old news. In fact, Oregon voters made mail-in ballots the state’s standard system more than 20 years ago. And it first got the green light for local state elections back in 1981.
https://www.opb.org/news/article/his...gon-elections/
Five states – Colorado, Hawaii, Oregon, Utah, and Washington – conduct what are commonly referred to as all-mail elections. In these states, voting is conducted primarily, although not necessarily exclusively, by mail. This article addresses the utilization of all-mail elections in the United States. ^^ Dear lawd...
Someone posted an analysis of Qanon by a game designer somewhere upthread, it was a fascinating read. Apophenia is a powerful force. I wonder what your high school buddy would make of the dick-shaped motorcade accompanying Trump on his last drive. Cause surely that can't be a coincidence either..."Your wife being mad is temporary, but pow turns do not get unmade" - mallwalker the wise

This is what the Biden admin addressed on day 1.
But AR is calling it a failure because they haven’t dealt with mail in voting laws yet
I would hope they would be looking more at making a plan to vaccinate the populace since the guy you voted for twice didn’t bother to do that.
Maybe Trump truly believed covid was gonna disappear on Nov 3. Funny how the GOP, in saying that, predicted that they were gonna lose. Maybe you should have considered their prediction before you guaranteed Trump was going to win.

He didn't exactly mean or say that, but I guess the real point is to just dunk on AR every post he has, no matter what he says?

The Dems have two separate voting laws in the works. I posted links about 600 pages back.

Yeah you are.
Saying they should codify nationally vote by mail does not imply the Biden administration is a failure. It does imply I would do the vote by mail thing prior to the amnesty thing, but that is just my opinion.Live Free or Die

There is no voting happening for some time, so they can work on it down the road. They are on top of the important stuff that can't wait.

01-21-2021, 03:40 PM #11074Article I, Section 4, Clause 1: The Times, Places and Manner of holding Elections for Senators and Representatives, shall be prescribed in each State by the Legislature thereof; but the Congress may at any time by Law make or alter such Regulations, except as to the Places of chusing Senators.
Seems silly not to do the things that can be done on day one because of that. Why am I not surprised AR doesn't know his constitution.

I think I'm partially to blame for why you're getting so much push back. My only point to you was that you were incorrect when you said that the approaches that states took for voting under pandemic conditions did not go through their state legislatures. They did and rest assured it was on the up and up. As GM pointed out, confirmed by over 60 court cases much to the dismay of some.
Damn shame, throwing away a perfectly good white boy like that
