Yeah they really ramped up from 1 to 3. Good luck figuring out the insurance and getting back to normal.

Good luck with recovery, since we are sharing here's what I'm rolling around with. Back riding this spring and getting closer and closer to full strength.

Excellent damage you guys. Keep em coming

TBS - that plate is the preferred option, but surgeon isn’t sure there is enough bone material to attach the screws on the under side. 2nd option is a longer plate on top that will be screwed into the hand bones. That will completely immobilize my wrist. It will have to be removed 3-4 months later after bones all heal.

    Surgery on Tuesday.

Had surgery yesterday. That was an unpleasant night. Too much Anesthesia and nerve block. I felt my fingers tingling except they weren't in the location I felt. Completely dead arm. I got up around midnight to pee and take anti-neusia med. I made it to the bathroom door and passed out. Hit my head pretty good. Joan was yelling at me to wake up as my face lay in a puddle of blood.
Waiting for doc to call back to see what I need to check on my hand if I did any damage. Geeze

Never underestimate general anesthesia. I passed out in a walgreens after my wisdom teeth, and passed out in the bathroom after shoulder surgery. Ive since learned to just have a sit down as soon as i feel that headrush feeling within 24hrs post surgery.

Vibes. shitty situation, but the good news is you have a wife to help out, are in much better shape than the general population, and have a very clear reason to work hard on rehab. It will get better quickly.

I crushed my finger in a mt bike crash some 8 years ago, local doc did initial surgery and did it fine, but after wondering about the level of expert care I was getting, I went for a second opinion with him and was glad I did.
Randy will cut shit with no qualms. He's very aggressive, but very good. I had a client with full body compartment syndrome and he dissected her body to relieve the fascia like a butcher. Her entire body. She ended up dying, but he gave her a couple months from exploding. I once saw him after a mtb injury and a finger facing the wrong way. He gave me two options, I can move it now, or I can give you a bunch of hardware. I chose option one.

Also, I have a good friend who called me late one night after he got home from his chef job. Wife slipped and cracked her head on the bathroom sink. Tons of blood and one dead wife.

    Be careful.

Last time I came out of general, I got 3 different people to take me one block to my PO box. Within an hour. I wasn't even expecting mail.

Then 2 months later, my anesthesiologist OD'd and died.

Careful. There are fun drugs and not fun one's. Mind the difference.

Post op pics. Rod in place for 2 months. PT until then. Skin feels weird. Like it’s a film covering around my hand. Lots of work to get motion back.
