The clear coat is failing on my wife's Evil Calling and she demoed an SB130 to see if she can handle a 29er at 5'2". Cleaned some technical climbs she's never beat before, so it's new bike time. I think we're set on a Revel Rascal, but that new Commencal Tempo caught my eye. Wouldn't kick the new SB140 out of the garage either, but I'm less sold on Yeti.

5 yrs ago when i bought the Yeti 5.5 they only went to Medium, its interesting that yeti now offer a 29er in small, I figured the short people would be forever SOL when it came to the 29" hoops,
so are there now more small 29's being made than say 5 yrs ago?
I liked my yeti 29er a lot but I like my SC with the mullet moreLast edited by XXX-er; 11-30-2022 at 02:46 PM.

I finally found all of the parts in stock so I bought a GRX Di2 group for Ms CE's rig. The pain of watching her shifts during our just-finished 3 week bikepacking trip in New Zealand was too much. The Revolt routes the rear cable into the down tube in such a a way that it creates a ton of friction no matter what, and bikepacking bags just make it worse.
Luckily I was able to take advantage of BikeTiresDirect's 25% off of everything sale for most of it. Ebay hooked up the elusive left shifter.ride bikes, climb, ski, travel, cook, work to fund former, repeat.

165 cranks for my '16 Hightower. I still love that bike, but I pedal strike too often. My newer bike sits higher and has shorter cranks. Maybe it just has shorter cranks, idk, but I'm so sick of striking on the HT, but this will resolve it.

Was browsing FB Marketplace while watching football and stumbled into brand new in box RS Pike DJ fork for $200 locally! Doubtful a big upgrade over my Manitou Circus Expert, but like my 15mm wheel better than the 20mm I have on there now.

Steeper seat tubes, shorter seat tubes, better standover, maybe even longer chainstays?
Geo on her old by vs new is remarkably similar despite the increase in wheelsize: https://geometrygeeks.bike/compare/e...rascal-2020-s/

I finally threw a handful of parts at my replacement fat bike frame.
The bottom bracket on the last one nuked itself a couple of seasons ago. I rode fuck out of it anyways.
I was hoping to completely replace the crankset, but I couldn't find a replacement cinch spindle so I nuked this one and polished it up with an emery cloth. It feels right as rain.
Luckily I don't feel the need to throw decent parts at it.
I think I'm under $250 for the refurb and under $400 for the used frame.

Found a Chromag Primer and pulled the trigger on it. Black with gold flakes…. Little pricer then a Rootdown but wasn’t terrible. Think I have all parts needed ( some coming from TGR) so that will be wicked.
