Experimenting with knife cuts, hot knife cuts, hot flat soldering tips.
I have a buddy who CNC mills the foam out for super professional looking cuts.
My tools and layout will change from my initial set up. I’ll wait until I have a perfected layout and then go the CNC route.
More photos to come when my foam arrives next week.
You can’t be in the cool kids club without those Knipex....

I was just in the garage installing a dropper post and the lack of organization regarding my tools was making me sad. Sure, I have a pliers drawer, but I don't have and damn foam cutouts. Everything is just dumped in there, or hanging from a pegboard, or in a different drawer inside for things I use often, or in a soft toolbox that I'm using for a few projects, or in my bike tool specific tool box/drawers. Fucking ridiculous.

    I'm depressed now.

But christ, I get new tools all the time, or replace something I don't like or break. I would never be able to finalize my tools enough to CNC a foam insert. I love how Dee makes me feel like a flawed human.

    I'm getting a beer.

Edit: don't get me started on the color coated handle bands. Fuck it. I suck.

The handle bands let me know those are my tools.
I sometimes take my personal tools to the bike shop if I’m helping them there, or if I lend out a tool at a race or an event.
I get a lot of “Dude can I borrow your quick link pliers for 5 minutes?” While at an event.
Me, “Sure, leave me your helmet until you return” or I like their race plate in exchange for a lent tool, can’t race/enter without one of them.

It's just heat shrink. All my 4mm hex are marked yellow and my 5mm hex are Orange (like my Wera tools).
For tool identification I buy a couple of feet in 3/8", 1/2", 3/4", 1", 1 1/2". Slip it over the tool and put the heat gun on it.
I ordered from WireCare. I use the 3:1 heatshrink tubing, you can but it by the foot and they have a bunch of colors.

Had to get the 35X35 Deity for the GG, and some thicker grips. Color matches the head badge and the decals. Took it for a ride. Very nice!

We had a p/n for ordering a new tool kit with all the pockets and i wore out 5 or 6 of them over the years, if you are going for tools literaly thousands of time its nice to have them all arranged,

Having said that my own tool boxes are and have always been a mess

Do I detect a lot of anger flowing around this place? Kind of like a pubescent volatility, some angst, a lot of I'm-sixteen-and-angry-at-my-father syndrome?

    fuck that noise.

The 2021 supply thread scared me so I ordered an XT 12 speed spare chain from a shop in BC in late Feb. It finally arrived.

Installed a PNW dropped post on my daughter's Juliana this weekend. Seems much higher quality that I expected. She's riding it with her mom for the first time today. Hope the install went well. It was extremely challenging since my tools are not color coded...

Nice. I can confirm the I-9 stem matches also.

I have to ask... WTAF is with your brake lever position?

I rotated them back up a little.
I have big hands, or at least big palms, and with such low bar height, it actually is comfortable to have them tilted way down. Also, the design of the master cylinder may make it look lower than it actually is, compared to, say, Shimano brakes. Also, said design pushes the shifter down more than a Shimano master cylinder. Nice brakes, but they need some getting used to and aren't totally silent. And the T25 hardware is annoying. The brakes, shifter and seat dropper lever all use different hardware. Magura is just too cool for 4mm hex, I guess, and the PNW lever needs 3mm to be low profile. I'll live, it's just annoying to adjust. Focusing on getting the shock and fork dialed too. It's an ongoing process.
I realize, especially in that photo, it looks ridiculous. I'd say I'm easily comfortable with them around 45 degrees. I also put my seat way forward to get over the pedals better, so maybe that changes things. I'll probably fix it.
It's only April. As I ride more and get in better shape, I'll figure it all out. Hopefully.
Also, it's not letting me attach photos on the app. Mods?!
