Bored and dusted off a 5 year old Giant Escape hybrid and decided to make it slightly more gravel worthy budget project, lots of parts from eBay. Jones riser H bar and new stem, ERGON st gel seat, Schwalbe Land Cruiser 43, Rock Bros pedals. The Jones folks are first class, answered a lot of install, what should I get type questions and were super helpful, including Jeff, who actually sometimes mans the customer service email addy. Solid folks..

Upgraded my 2016 Pike with a new Debonair spring, added 10mm of travel to 140mm. Seems smooth, but I hadn't ridden the bike since last fall so my comparisons are weak.

XC bike upgrades, kinda fun to expand my riding horizons.
Used Pivot Mach 4 Sl
Added on:
Industry nine A35 stem
Roval control SL wheels
This thing is silly fast... couple of downhill KOM’s on smooth twisty trails.

We Are One Agent wheels
Probably gonna swap to a OneUp dropper sometime midsummer and then go Shimano drivetrain and brakes over the winter.

I like the black and chrome thing. They look so factory and theyll always blend. A friend chromed his shimano cranks. Looks great and no wear marks

Just took the plunge. Full conversion groupo in the mail. Going from SRAM 11-46 to Shim XT 10-51. Had to get a microspline for my DT350 hub. Also had to pony up at Wolftooth for a direct mount chainring that fits SRAM cranks, but has Shim hyperglide tooth profile. I lose two teeth in the front going from 30t to 32t, but still have bigger range going from 46t to 51t dinner plate.
I'm not after more range really, I am after shifting that doesn't blow donkey.

My reverb needed a re-build, so I bought a new one, and will rebuild this one on a rainy day. I'm very happy with the 4 reverbs I have between all the bikes in my stable, so I purchased a new C1 Reverb. It's super smooth and action is really light compared to my older tired B1 version. I'm very curious to see if it eventually develops air on the negative side of the IFP, and if I have to use the air purge tool that is now designed into the C1 generation.
Also I found a used pair of Renyolds Black Label AM Carbon wheels for Mrs Hubbs' bike. These were a $2400 premium wheelset when they were released back in 2014.
They are DT Swiss 240 straight pull hubs, 24 bladed spokes laced to a carbon 23mm ID/ 31mm OD rim. weighing in under 1500g. A perfect match for the 2.4/2.3 tires she runs on her "downcountry" bike.
It took some work to clean them up to remove the Gorilla Tape rim strip and all its leftover residue and I replaced it with proper Stans Tape. Serviced the star ratchet and equaled out the tensioned on a few spokes. I might get a 52T star ractchet for it, but for now its a great upgrade. Once mounted up It removed 590 grams (1.3lbs) from her bike!
It was the best $200 deal, and 2hrs of work I have spent so far this season.

Waiting and waiting and waiting till yesterday. I have the -1 degree works headset And 4 pack of brake pads with 180 debonair air shaft, 40mm rise chromag 31.8 bars, 35mm length deity 31.8 copperhead stem in the mail so ordered a cane creek dB coil shock and Michelin dh34’s downhill shoes. Almost the finishing touches. I want/need a 35mm inner front rim, progressive coil and maybe Cush cores and shorter cranks

11-28 (and just ultegra r8000). You need a current gen RD for 11-30 (or 11-34 with mid-cage ultegra) to be officially compatible. I assume I could still do it if I wanted but I'm fine with this gearing.
I was annoyed at how much a spidering costs (265 msrp, I get a discount but it's still a lot), but then I looked up what current ultegra and DA rings costs, plus that new sram red machined deal and suddenly it seemed not so bad.

running 11-30 on a previous gen SS derailleur. No issues and looks fine even on big ring - big sprocket (which I generally try to avoid anyway)

I dropped a Runt in my fork from DSD. Proper air spring mid stroke support is life changing. Super supple and ramps up through the midstroke and feels bottomless, but the last inch of travel is reserved for near death experiences.
The bike just stays up when smashing or jumping into stuff. I’m blown away.
