$33.8. Colts are gonna get hit for $20mil. And that pick will likely be a low first rounder...b/c the Colts won't really have anyone else. Can't wait to see what receiver Howie wastes it on.

    Shoulda taken that sammich instead.
It makes perfect sense...until you think about it.

I suspect there's logic behind the madness, but I'm too dumb to see it.

JJ Watt signs a 2 year deal with the Cardinals.

What am I missing? I thought he said winning a title was most important? 8-8 team in the NFC West? Ok then.

I mean, $10 million is $10 million. I would give up a Lombardi for less.

not the nfl but i played my last high school game tonight. got blindsided on a punt and diagnosed with my fifth concussion so decided to hang it up. kinda sucks but also a bit of a relief as my heart just hasn't been in it this year. i'll post a vid of the hit when film is published.

Damn. 5 concussions before graduating high school is tough. In my day the coaches just called them stingers and sent you right back in. I really feel the concussion issue is at it’s worst in high school football. So little help and protocols at that level, plus the brain is still developing.

That sucks man. Definitely the right call to hang it up. You doing any treatment for that concussion? Hows your head?

i actually talked with my dad tonight and he is looking to get me in with a hyperbaric treatment program like joe namath did. i did a few different neurofeedback treatments when i was first diagnosed with lasting tbi but never found much success with them.
i'm on a healthy tylenol regiment atm so headaches have been minimal but i am more sensitive to light than usual for sure. definitely out of it too. every fifteen minutes or so i am like reminded that i exist and then i realize i have no idea what i am doing.

Ugh, that was rough, and five concussions in high school is nuts. Also, HS football in March? Huh, learn something new every day.

The number 1 thing you need, besides being damn sure not to take a shot to the head for at least 6-12 months, is sleep. Lots and lots and lots of sleep. Your brain only repairs itself during sleep. I had a pretty significant head injury in late Oct. 2019 and an add-on event seven weeks later that blew my recovery off the rails. I didn't fully recover for almost a year (granted, I'm 20 years older than you). I did a deep dive into TBI recovery and my ultimate conclusion, which was backed up by a specialist I saw, is that nothing is more effective than sleep. Neurofeedback can help a lot for very specific lingering symptoms, hyperbaric treatments might help, but sleep is the foundation upon which your recovery is built on.

I played football and and wrestled with a guy who derailed his life by continuously trying to come back from concussions. By the end he'd get a little tap on the head and he'd black out. He couldn't really exercise at all for a long time. He became like a different person. Different personality. He did eventually graduate law school, and he's had a solid career, but has dealt with some serious mental health issues that are linked to all the concussions.

Hang 'em up man, it's not worth it.

Not just hang up the football cleats. Hang up all activities that will likely lead to concussions.

DTM, are you feeling fully recovered now? Because I recall at one point how you were frustrated that you weren't recovered, and were feeling like you would be dealing with it long term.

That’s exactly why I think the hightail level is the most dangerous for concussions. Low skill refs and minimal protection and treatment for players. My coaches used to teach his like that. Coached wide receivers to crack back block linebackers. It was brutal and legal then. I think they’ve made those blocks illegal now but I’m sure they still happen

Been feeling 100% since Oct 2020 or so. Definitely still nervous about hitting my head again, though.

Heavy on the incentives, it's only $14M if he plays really, really well.

$6 million in "honors" included in the contract. That doesn't even include incentives. Cap hit will be MUCH less than $14 million.

I like seeing Cam's outfits after each game so I'm all for this.

Happy Trails, Drew Brees. I got to see you play against my Wolverines in person as a kid and always enjoyed the way you approached the game and life in general.

Props to the hilarious farewell nods from players and teams. Like the Broncos simply reposting this video from Peyton, or the Falcons saying “We’ll miss you, but not that much”.

Little late to this one but just wanted to let you know that most people just take Tylenol straight orally, not your way.
... jfost is really ignorant, he often just needs simple facts laid out for him...
