That was pretty enjoyable. They cut out the end of that '82 UNC-Georgetown NCAA championship game to make it look like MJ hit the winning shot at the buzzer, leaving out the part where the Hoyas had the ball at the top of the key down 1 with time on the clock and Freddy Brown inexplicably passed the ball to James Worthy, which is seared into my memory, but other than that it was good.

Agree, I thought they kinda cheated there with the editing. Still, lots of great stuff. I like the Krause v. Pippen subplot especially.

I play golf, occasionally, with the guy he was supposed to pass it to.

@skiballs: That's probably the closest I've ever come to completely losing my shit over a sporting event. Bill Buckner would be in second place. Freddy stops his dribble, holding the ball up over his head, at the top of the key. Maybe 5 seconds to go. All four of his teammates are in his field of vision. And he half turns and throws it backwards to Worthy, who's all by himself on the court. game over. w.t.f.

I'm still not quite over it I guess.

^yup, won't ever forget both of those. I had played golf with this big soft spoken black guy, 3-4 times, really nice guy. I just knew him as Eric, he mentioned he played ball a gtown. One day I asked him about that incident and he just kinda shook his head and mumbled something. One of other guys in the group told me who he was. I never brought the subject up again.

I watched both play. Theyíre the same at their core. LeeeeBron will hold most records when itís all said and done, except titles. Is that the mark of a GOAT? I donít know. Really. I donít. We all saw MJís stats without Pippin, and Bron dragged sorrier teams than that to how many Finals? Much less 4 straight?

Itís a debate for sure and itís not settled until they both stop playing.

That said, to DigiDrewís post canít wait to see the Bad Boys footage.
I still call it The Jake.

Human highlight reel for sure [sorry dominique]
The body control mid-air, the no-look passes or free throws, shot creation, the intensity...

Itís easy to forget you actually saw him do that...(holy shit, did he just do that?!?). good reminders

Iím def enjoying the look back

A fun addition in the middle of all this is rewatching the Bad Boy's and Rodman 30 for 30's

Nothing, and I mean nothing, can top late 80's through the 90's NBA

    Oldie but goodie

How do you keep Michael Jordan from scoring 30pts a game?

    Have Dean Smith coach him

The joke goes, "Who was the last guy to hold Michael Jordan under 30 points a game?" "Dean Smith".

"Dean Smith opened up a bank but it kept getting robbed." "Why's that?" "He wouldn't let the guards shoot." (also told about Joe B. Hall),

Any ACC fan from the early 80's could have told you two things: 1. MJ is one of the most amazingly gifted players in basketball. 2. He has always had allstars around him to make him look better. He had James Worthy at UNC, and of course Pippen with the Bulls.

Honestly a young Labron taking that Cleveland team to the playoffs singlehandedly is more impressive IMHO.

Watching the '86 Bulls-Celtics clips I kept thinking that the next year Lenny Bias would have been on the Celtics. And that would've been something to see.

    great pic
I wonder how Steph would have done in that context
would he have been agile enough to work around it
or would he have had the shit beaten out of him?
I bet one cocky shimmy and Laimbeer could have taken him out for the season

I think that Steph is a different animal because of his shooting. The Jordan of that era had to get to the basket to be most effective. It's harder to rough someone up when they are releasing the ball in a millisecond from 24 feet out.

Isiah did ok for a similar sized guy, plus Steph woulda created more space for himself with his shooting, but he woulda got Lambeered for sure.
