Uncommon cold takes over for the common cold.

SJW opinion swings hard against freedom shaming as Americans come to appreciate the value of diverse diversions and decide to start letting other people make their own decisions. Pot smokers, skate boarders and nudists hail decriminalization as "live and let live" becomes a national motto.

Just kidding. The common cold will hide out and return. American brains will use this time to retrace their moral heuristic pathways and convince themselves with renewed vigor that all who are different are wrong. Xenophobics and morality legislators rejoice.

On a personal level, I'm going to make a significant career change in the months/year after this pans out. The time I've had during the stay-at-home order made me realize how miserable and stressed my job makes me.

Good for you. I did a major career change 36 years ago. Best decision (besides asking my wife to marry me) I ever made. I hope yours works out as well.

continued delay in new household formation, short term consumption shift towards boomers/earlerXers because Z/Y have no money or jobs, similar politically angry 50+ dudes.

maybe: the final crash of some boomer driven consumption trends (guitars, boats, etc)

My biggest fear in all this is the overreach. It's scary it almost seems planned. I don't buy conspiracy stuff, but man if this isn't the way to make huge changes to our freedoms.

I was thinking something like that. Will the frivolous things be forgotten or at least not have this crazy collectible value anymore? Will it bring that Series II FHC E Type within reach of a normal guy like me...

I was in New Haven in 1980 and it was guns and crack and fucking scary.

    Times change.

    The post covid-19 world?
I think the pandemic will accelerate all the really fucked up stuff: more concentration of wealth, less financial throughput via small business, less travel in general due to an ever shrinking middle class.

In the long run, it will likely shorten the interval before the impending uprising of the have nots. Eric Holder is right and the covids will only serve to accelerate the inevitable.

When she was "freezing" in Montana in September I knew she was never coming with me. Cut her loose and was back in MT within the month. Pretty sure no woman or any amount of money would ever be enough to live in Queens.

People will wear a placard on their chest describing their handshake.
Perhaps assigned to them by the person assigning their gps chip.
