I don't know why, but when I read that I'm imagining you riding a setup like this.

I once got kicked off the bus on the way back from an away game loss. HS soccer team. Coach just straight up left me on the side of the road. You could get away with that in the late 80's.

Excellent stories boys.
Timberridge, I too once won Gold in a NASTAR race at Boyne Highlands. It was a most excellent day.
Must be something about soccer coaches. I was on the bus after an away game loss and me and my buddy were generally being a shit to eachother and our coach wanted silence so he walked back grabbed the hat off my head and threw it out the window.
I'm not sure what transpired after that but at practice a week later he was demoted to JV and he had to give me my hat back in front of the entire team. I still imagine him searching the roadside ditch in the dark looking for that hat.
Now that I think about it, that may be one of my greatest moments in sports.
Speaking of winning and trophies though, I think my greatest moment in sports was winning my first bump comp at like age 10 at Mt. Brighton, Michigan. Shitty moguls, shittier jumps, 190 Dynastar Vertical Assaults with rear entry Solly boots, but really good skiers. I was so jacked I quit racing the same day and set out to ski bumps (competitively) for the rest of my skiing career.I still call it The Jake.

I raced BMX as a kid. When I was 7, I finished first in the state (WI) for my age group. We went the to the "World Championships" in Indianapolis. It was cool to meet Stu Thompson, Perry Kramer ( I had...and still have a PK Ripper), Eddy King, and all those guys. I came in 7th in my age group.
The best was: I was interviewed it ended up as a little blurby-blurb in BMXA (about 1/4 page) "profiling me." When that magazine came in the mail and I saw I was in it....it was pretty much the coolest thing ever.It makes perfect sense...until you think about it.
I suspect there's logic behind the madness, but I'm too dumb to see it.

So it was announced tonight that Tiger Woods, Phil Mickleson, Tom Brady and Peyton Manning will be playing a 2 v 2 match on May 24 on TNT, which, I'll definitely tune in for although I wish it was on HBO or Netflix so we can hear them mic'd up and unedited.

Which... brings us to tomorrow's General Sports Discussion topic:
Who is in your dream foursome? Pick 3 other guys, gals, athletes, functional alcoholics, relatives, who gives a shit, that you would like to spend 4 hours chasing a ball around with.
Don't golf? Fine, pick 3 other people you would like to ride a quad lift with for 4-5 hours. With beer.I still call it The Jake.

Late to the party, but no one named Barry Bonds among the most hated. All the talent in the world pre-roids, 3 MVP awards before the juice. But the guy was just an asshole all around, few wanted him to break Aaron’s record outside of the Bay Area.

I was in the Bay Area during his prime so maybe I’m a little bit of a homer, but the more I read about him, and given his history, his dad’s history, and with his godfather Willie Mays’ influence, It kind of makes sense to me he did what he did. He’s a pretty good cyclist now too.
Well maybe I'm the faggot America
I'm not a part of a redneck agenda

Greatest accomplishment - I was a 7 foot high jumper. Cleared it freshman year college, and I was done - to many injuries (stress fractures in my feet). Competed against some good athletes, including Mike Powell, WR holder long jump.

Points for a business meeting with Bill Polian and Marv Levy to discuss their order for the teams Super Bowl XXV losers ring?

Just cleaning up a late thought here , I’m still visually enamored with the Daly encounter during the rain delay, takin a break with the crowd knocking back beers and not breaking stride t’all, I can smell the cigarette smoke and hear the cans getting crushed. Love it.
