I started the season with shifts, obliterated the backhand the shifts were mounted on. Then got the same setup with tectons then eventually ended up on dynafit radicals.
This is my first year of touring and by far my favorite binding was the tecton. Super intuitive touring to ski transition.
The shift is cool if you want to be able to just kick your foot in. But having to take skis off for transitions is a pain in the dick.
Shifts definitely let you out a little before you want em too. But if you have room to crank the din then prob fine.
I had the tectons release just in the heal when I knuckled a few times. Real funky getting tossed into tele mode.
Definitely go for tectons just a way cooler binding in my opinion.
