I’m glad you’re well Buster. There was a little chatter on here about you while you were still over in Europe not sure if you saw. No prognostications, more just like well wishes. Hard to see acquaintances in the line of fire. Glad you’re doing right by your family and community. Cheers to a quick last few days.

Thankfully our town didn't have any big gatherings recently, and as far as I know, none of our cases resulted from skiers coming to the resort while it was still open. But the influx of people in the last week has been noticeable, and it's decidedly unwelcome.

    Thanks, man.

In a lot of regards, Rueras and the mt-lodge are one of the best places anyone could ride this thing out; it's the last township before the Oberalpass which is closed in winter, so the only traffic was the cogtrains.

    No crowds at all.

venduls hospitality absolutely rules, all mags should experience that place, it's amazing skiing, food and hospitality, not to mention the quarantinis.

Some inlaws have expressed their continuing disdain for me, this was just a little icing on the ongoing cake. Oh well.

We had a blast and none of the Rueras crew to my knowledge has had any symptoms. Let's hope they stay safe and well as well as all you k00ks.

Looks like a nice bottle of scotch you have there too. It's antiseptic you know. You should probably have some to be safe.

Car insurance companies are making an absolute killing on this thing.

A few evenings a week, I cleanse my palate before dinner with one of those.

Purely for the antiseptic effects of course.

I like the Caol Isla a lot, a little lighter than the Oban or the Lagavulin.

    Coronavirus complaint/commiseration thread.

Here’s my self pity party in two parts

    - thanks to this Ive volunteered myself back into the manic startup thing. There goes good sleep and working normal working hours.

    - now weekends are no different than weekdays since you cant go out much anyways. So there goes the full couple days off to recharge. Zoom call this AM

Thanks to everyone who offered kind words, T&P, etc . We are on day 22 of being home and the hardest part for me is the lack of mental space. Unless my daughter is playing on her Kindle or watching a movie, she never. stops. talking. Hell, even then she chatters constantly. Grateful to be healthy and not stuck with a husband or wife in the house as well. At least it's not snowing today and I just reduced my car insurance to the bare minimum since not taking clients out for the foreseeable future. I'll be drinking wine and eating corks from now on, always good advice to be found around here.

    RE: VRBO/AirBnB

Friend who has a place for rent in the Paradise Valley shut down when this started to go sideways (Hubby is an ER doc). She said the area is swamped with requests from refugees.

Interesting , all the short term rental places that I have seen on my limited travels are empty as are the weekender places. ON hill places might be running 25% occupied.

kacked the knee in January so much for the 70-100 day ski seasons,

no money spent on a hut trip, no money spent on vaca ( to china! ), no money spent on a ski safari, no money spent on fuel, no money spent in ski hill bar, no money spent in restaurants, both craft brews are shut down which saves me 300$ a month

I did cut the tenants rent in half but other wise pension/cpp is still coming in SO I'm actualy net ahead

Yeah, many are going to come out of this with a very big appreciation of living a life with much less spending. Many will have to, but, in the end, they may be happier.
