Enumerate the flat camber, minimal rocker, stiff pintail 110+ waisted skis

see title; I'm not enough of a gearhead to survey.

Or DPS: bring back the black, bamboo sidewalled L120 profile and flex.

The current L120s have too much rocker. I'm looking for the old bamboo sidewalled profile.

    Is it really that bad?

I have flex 3 200cm bamboo. My fav ski ever.

I got red top sheet, flex regular 200cm. A bit softer, but not enough to stop the fun.

They are so similar, so different from all other skis. I barely notice the difference.

I have the red ones too, they flap more and don't edge as well on the gr00mers.
I'm just wondering about something in a 185-190 length that has similar effective edge as the original black l120.

the gpo is close but has camber

I have 2 pair of the red hybrid lotus 120's they are 3 s/n apart in both sizes

I like how the 185 skis > the 190 altho it could be that the Verticals on the 185 feel different than the Barons on the 190

when the DPS manufacturing manager rode thru here last spring he said he still has the molds but has no idea what a lotus is ... i told him to build it and they will come

I’m also looking for this in a 115mm, not more. The Metal Katana has too much swing weight and a bit stiff for me, the VW Katana is a bit too light, the Hoji is too rockered, the Renegade/Nocta/Lotus 120 are too wide.
Too bad black crows doesn’t do some kind of flat Corvus in a 115mm.
I tried a Hokkaido 189 but didn’t like it, a bit too stiff and long and heavy.
The Confession reviews are not great most say that it’s harder to ski than the Metal Katana plus build quality seems low, lots of delams.
WNDR 110 is a bit too narrow and light.
Maybe a custom reverse Folsom Gambit 113 but lots of €€€ especially if importing to EU.
Looks like a 186 EHP may be the answer but hard to find in EU ...

I remember reading recently Marshal Olson said Monster 108(actually 110uf) skis similar to L120. I think it was in his FS thread in gearswap. Sadly, now out of production though!

Check with Down if they have any leftover Showdown 115 (or 115M) in a corner somewhere. Or go narrower with the existing Showdown 105.

Pretty sure Prog/Evi makes a ski very similar to EHP. $$$$$ though

I owned the Down SD115 for 1 season ! It was too directional for me, I sold it. Wanted to go straight all the time. It was a long time ago though and I’m a better skier now, wouldn’t mind to try it again ...

Thanks, I went to Evi website a few time but never noticed they made that !

It’s called the HEDONISME, looks pretty good even though I would prefer if it was 150g heavier. Not cheap but if this is the ski I want I’m ok with that ...

They don’t list the tip / tail height and there is no profile camber pic though, I’ll ask them.

Since they can make custom stuff anyway maybe they can tweak it a bit.

That's Endre Hal's ski company. Pretty sure 1st Renegade prototypes came from his factory as well as the white room construction

    yo!
i actually think the Kastle BMX105HP skis like a skinny/side cut/cambered L120. More surfy than any direction/chargy 105 waist ski has any right to be, and still clean, crisp, and stable in low tide — but might be too skinny and too much camber for Buster’s preference I think.

i have not skied the BMX115 but this might be an interesting option for you, Buster

the Monster 108 is an amazing ski, but for sure a submarine in pow. Amazing windbuff/firm/corn ski tho. Just FWIW

I’d love to ski the Down Showdown 105’s. Look amazing! That shape in a 115 with non-metal build would be super interesting IMO.

Also eager to ski the flat-camber WNDR skis from Matt Sterbenz

    Gotcha.
    Sorry for the misqoute.
108 as bottomfeedery as in103 was? I have some undrilled 191's, so I'm curious.

Still seems like it has more camber than I want.

This is the WNDR "reverse camber", which appears to be more what I'm looking for: flat camber. Maybe just a bit more rocker than I want.
