Buying a shot put. What do I need to know?

So I need it for protection.

I'm thinking I need women's and men's versions. One size for longer distance and the heavier one to finish off the job at closer range. So just two or three of lighter weight and just one heavy hitter.

    Thoughts?

Get her a 20 gauge with a scope, and yourself a 12 gauge.

    Javelin.

More effective, esp at long distance.

Most injuries occur from intruders taking and using your own shot put against you

Get a discus instead. Better velocity. Or, if you are looking to save money, find a large stone. I hear that stone throwing is big in Scotland.

For a certain kill, have you considered lawn darts?

It is a shot. The shot put is the act of putting the shot.

    Shot putters put the shot.

The shot is putted by the shot putters.

How many shotters could put a shot put if shotters could shot put?

Oh great now that da covid is here every nancyboy in town is angling to get themselves a shotput for protecting their TP. Guess what sherlock if you don't know how to field strip a metal ball already now is not the time to even be considering this. No one should be allowed to buy any track or field equipment right now except for decathletes and maybe steeplechase runners. Grrr this makes me so mad that people could be so irresponsible - makes me want to go for a good long race walk.

Well until you get to about 50 feet a simple cast Iron 16lb will do you just fine. The red gills are actually pretty good for the $.

Once you get some serious distance under your belt you'll want wanna them fancy sweedish turned stainless steel ornaments.

(generally these "sound alike" treads are played and not very funnah anymore, but whatev)
