You’re going to get it. Not if. Just when

    So much panic.

Flattening the curve and sheltering in place will only delay you getting it.

At which time, if you react badly, there might be enough beds and ventilators for you. Or not.

With the right anti virals on hand, I will give it a go. Before that, I am hiding out.

delay = more time to research treatments + more time to get ventilators and ICU beds ready + more time to research how this is spreading + more time to see if a vaccine can come online

I get all that. And it makes sense.

But too many think they will dodge the bullet with ppe that is badly needed by front line angels.

Average peeps need to stop hoarding shit. Accept your fate.

You will get this. I hope you are lucky and survive.

No amount of tinfoil and hand sanitizer will keep you from getting it.

I'm a pessimist by nature. So, I don't think I'm going to get it.

Not sure why you would assume everyone's going to get it. If people really do hunker down it's going to slow the number of cases. Just look at China. We won't be out of the woods until there's a vaccine and most people get inoculated, but that time will come.

Also not sure why anyone would assume we'll all get it when even the worst case scenarios I've seen estimate that 160-210 million Americans are infected. Which still leaves at least 110 million un-infected.

Maybe I’m a pessimist. Or maybe it’s my wife working the ED with shitty ppe. She’s gonna get it. Which means I’m gonna get it.

Aside from me, there are so many asymptomatic cases, it’s out there. And it’s spreading.

Maybe if you isolate completely for four weeks, you can avoid it.

At this point, I’m thinking about licking door handles just to get it over with.

When you put it that way you make more sense, although the experts seem to think somewhere over 50% but less than 100% will get it.
Now, kindly delete the thread, because there's nothing here that hasn't been said a dozen times in the main thread.

This was somewhat suggested by our CEO, that and don't get tested if you get sick, we can't afford an office quarantine.

I think I'm going back to being an independent contractor.

And then there's this. Because bus drivers are more important than our medical community.

Yes yes and we know how honest China is with information. Just saying.

True, but at this point I don't think they've got much reason to lie. They could certainly be fudging the numbers, but I think it will become obvious if things are actually getting worse there rather than better--as they appear to be.
