Patagonia Descenionist diagonal carry

I'm probably missing something very obvious here but I've had a few people look at the pack and try to figure out the "right" way to diagonal carry skis and can't seem to come up with anything that seems right. Curious if you have this pack how do you do it? I have the 32L version, not sure if the 40L is any different.

I use the included ski loop, and a voile strap around the skis and through the upper daisy-chain on the opposite side. Works well. Though I usually a-frame.

I did try that but it felt pretty floppy and one time it pulled enough on the daisy chain that it opened the zipper.

Assuming we are talking about the same daisy chain, the one on the outside of the zippered avy tool pocket?
