Not too bad, not the greatest, ended with an injury... but still had more fun than the average bear.

I need to go to Utah.
    Utah?
Yeah, Utah. It's wedged in between Wyoming and Nevada. You've seen pictures of it, right?

So after 15 years we finally made it to Utah.....

Nice thread Phatty. Appreciate all the stoke here, its lifting my mood

I only got about 20 days but at least 3 of those were pow days. Not bad for an east coast gaper. Highlight of my 2019-2020 season was supposed to be EuroBBI but alas, 'twas not to be.. Postponed till next December (hopefully!) so looking forward to starting my 2020-2021 season with a bang!

Highlights this year included cat day in Canada, pow day in Fernie, and tree skiing in Hokkaido along with some early season pow days at Squaw...good times!

weird season on the east coast overall, missed out on December and most of January while still on the recovery train from a knee injury, but made up for it with some solid days in Feb. Fun to get out and ski any time you're able. Glad to have made the best of it all - here's some of my favorite shots from the season, sunrise skin laps, and a righteous 30" EC powder day. Positive vibes to all.

I was on snow less than half of my normal amount. I only logged around 25 days. But most of my ski days were pretty damn good.

Yesterday. Gorgeous weather, beautiful day for a walk. Skied a line I'd wanted to do for a couple years, which was fun even if the snow wasn't great.

Japan trip got cancelled due to divorce so my hopes were not high coming in to this winter. December was low tide and dry in the Tetons so I pretty much bird hunted and ice fished and almost wrote the season off. My goal was to tour more than I rode lifts and the get my BC mojo back. Accomplished. Once things turned on Jan 1 with a 100+ storm it was an incredible winter, maybe my best. I also got to ski with a few mags which is always a treat. \

Highlight was no doubt going out with JHMR patrol as an observer on a control route one snowy morning. Signed a waiver and they strapped an airbag to me and away we went. Super fun morning. Hoping to taga cool line in the park this spring, or just enjoy more mellow powder mornings.

Pretty heavy times... my work season in the heli ski world got cut short due to the virus and the ski touring season was also nipped in the bud so very prematurely. Not only is my ski season in most respects over but regardless of what outcome plays out with coronavirus, there's a very real existential risk to the viability of the heliski industry moving forward. Even if my op survives and opens the door next year, the year after...or, the year after that.... after 19 seasons ski teching for Last Frontier Heliskiing, kinda thought my 'just one more season' procrastination for getting a real job should be put in the rear view mirror.

My last heliski day of the season, and/or, potentially last in my life. It was a good'er... tested out a bunch of new ski and boot mods and had some 'ah ha!' moments where everything worked and I felt feelz levels above anything i've yet experienced on skis... Went out with a bang, not a whimper. If that was mic drop...so be it. Walkin' away a pretty appreciative, happy camper. Put into present days' context, heliskiing already seems like an unfathomable luxury...just mind blowing how fast times have changed.

    Master of mediocrity.
