RIP, McCoy, you were a genius.

McCoy's passing hitting me hard. I listened to Trane's classic quartet for hundreds of hours as a teen jazzbo and a young adult, changed the way I hear things. I saw McCoy live at Jazz Alley in Seattle a half dozen times. RIP John (1967), Jimmy (1976), Elvin (2004) and McCoy. There will be a long line outside the Church of Saint John Coltrane this Sunday.

Oh my. This hurts.
My sax may be long gone, but I might have to scrounge up a turntable to spin some Coltrane vinyl this weekend.
Thx for sharing.
