In these trying times, it’s comforting to see you stay on-brand and shitting on others’ kids.

Now, we need to decide whether he should drive cross country (from MIA to SLC) or fly. Will there be hotels open and safe? What about restaurants? Should he be prepared to sleep 2-3 nights in the car?

Let him figure it out on his own.

    The best education.

Out at the compound we have some minimum requirements for entry. They are subject to change but currently it is firearms and 1,000 rounds ammo, 24 roll TP (the good stuff), 4 cases of beer, 4 bottles whisky & a half ounce of weed. Waivers will be granted for a good welder and a butcher capable to dressing and smoking small game. The propane, diesel and unleaded are already on site. Generator and well are covered.

A half ounce is the weekly burn rate. I'm going to need a QP at least. You know what, out of an abundance of caution, make it a pound.

I'm a big Simon and Garfunkel fan, and my quip about boomers was a morbid joke.

Not sure, got in touch with both of my folks this morning but haven't heard back from either yet. My dad is an ophthalmologist and he just stopped seeing patients as of today, so he's spent a lot of time in close proximity to a lot of people over the last few weeks.

College kid? 2500 miles? Bet he does it in one push - no nights in the car at all.

Haha I used to do NY to CO solo in 40-45 hours with a couple of naps. Bring a sleeping bag and some food and make it work, at that age you don't need to get rooms and what's the big deal if ya don't shower for two days especially if you're alone.

Apparently the spam callers know more people are stuck at home. The last couple days have seen at least a tripling of spam calls at my house vs last week.

Not that anyone gives a shit, but since we're basically live blogging in these threads, I'll share.

I got a status update from my mom, still no runny nose, but a moderately bad sore throat and headache, along with rib soreness from the persistent dry cough.

They were going to head up their place in the Adirondacks to hunker down for a few weeks, but I think they should wait a couple days to make sure she improves a bit before they go and hang out in a relatively remote spot.

I’m at Walgreens waiting on the hand sanitizer lottery. Trucks here.

Lots of sick people coming and buying flu meds. Make you wonder.

Guys, if your throat even starts to get sore, gargle with Listerine and let a little drip down your throat. That has always helped me a bunch.

They will start to hijack the trucks on the road soon.

After that they come to your house looking for your cache.

So there was no hand sanitizer. There were a few old ladies waiting and they were pissed. Only alcohol prep pads, and there was not even the 4 box limit for 4 people.

Definetly going to take a while.
