Awesome info!
I had a local master gardener over yesterday and we talked for over an hour, he had all sorts of great input. The thinking is that one bad tomato took whatever bad stuff the plant wanted to spit out all got dumped into that one so I pulled it and trashed it. It looks like what I thought was problems with the potato plants isn't, it's just they're reaching the end of their cycle. I stuck my hands in the dirt and pulled a pound and a half of smalls in 1 minute and only went 4" in so I'll do a deeper dig later and see what's what. I need that space for sweet potatoes asap anyway.
Boy that BT stuff is incredible, one application and almost all of the cabbage worms were gone. I had to throw away everything in my indoor garden this morning because it was covered in aphids That was a bummer. I had a dozen plants ready to go out this week when I pull the early season stuff, now I don't think there's enough time for a late crop of those things. I'm going to try with carrots though because I picked up seeds with a 60 day maturation time. I also need to replant the entire indoor herb selection which sux, it was going SO well.
Peppers are popping, corn is 3-5 feet tall and doing its thing better than most of the farms I drive by, there are finally female flowers on the melon plants so they should be good to go now, squash is doing better than I've ever had before and half of my sage went to seed which is cool so I don't have to tear it out just clip it back and save the seeds.

Comon you guys. She's beautiful. And a better friend around your garden than many bipedal or quadruped ones. Long may she prosper and reproduce!

I let her be. If anything I want to see if Ms Boissal sets a new high jump world record next time she goes in the shed. I don't spiders, she despises them profoundly but is too scared to do anything about them. I usually get called to the rescue and find her standing on the couch pointing at an invisible guy on the floor. The bitching when I relocate them outside instead of killing them is always entertaining.

Finished my patio last weekend, dug all the sand out of the joints and polymeric sanded it. That shit is money, sets up like cement.
Garden going well, having fun making planters now that my boxes are brimming. Made one out of an old basket that the bottom rotted out, perfect. Dug under it and amended, filled and planted zuchinni.
We ordered honey from a monastery around here a few years ago and it came in a little crate, same deal, amended under and filled with soil and planted a yellow squash seed.
Had an ammo crate from the 105mm at Snowbird, they have a couple slots in the bottom perfect for roots to go through. Dug under, amended, filled, attempting to rescue an earwigged flower anode of a marigold and planted some cucumber seeds.
Most of my Wallawallas are almost baseball sized already.
My tomatoes are going silly, only a couple cherry tomatoes ripe yet but tons on the vines.
Boxes are all full, gonna have way more shit than we’ll ever eat.
Planted this planter last weekend, I dig the flowering cabbage, looking forward to what he does.

So jealous.
Tomatoes are just starting to flesh out, and we've had a couple long english cukes so far. But those are under plastic, so have been able to capitalize on the little sun we have had, and kept the soil dry. Lettuce, parsley, kale and chard continue wonderfully despite the late season. Even sowed another section of radish - why the fuck not? Neighbours complaining of having to light the fireplace to drive away the damp in the evenings.
The rest is not so great. Strawberries are in full production but flavour is just not there, garlic scapes are harvested but have lost close to a 1/3 to rot (both hard and softneck). Carrot germination was poor, but we had an inkling it would be such so we started a few under cover and have just transplanted them to fill in the bigger gaps. Raspberries show promise if ol' Sol ever shows his face. So many snails that if I can convince my daughter to give up her snail collection, I might try my hand at escargot. Sitting at the patio enjoying a herbal remedy is almost intolerable due to mosquito year beyond my memory at this location. The 10X10 canopy with no-see-um netting is a godsend.
Every year has its flavour. So far 2020 is devoid of any sweet spirit, and full of snail slime and itchy biters. Holding hope for august!

Wow.
That is one happy garden.
My garden strip is doing just okay. Already harvested and ate the June strawberries from my established plants. Added 8 more strawberry plants in April, nothing yet except a few berries. Green beans are growing well, already got 3 yellow cherry tomatoes. The kale is growing super slow but plugging along.
We barely broke 60 degrees today so very cool summer so far.
I added some miracle grow pro spray today so will see if that helps.

Garden 2020
You guys put my little patch to shame. Lettuce has bolted, but still tastes fine.
Little Sun Sweets have been holding us over
Until the big boys decide to turn
Zukes have been going nuts. We were out of town for a week so my MIL tended to the garden. She said she picked all the zukes she could find, all two of them. Turns out she missed a few.
Had my first cucumber yesterday and the kids are gonna harvest some green beans today.
ETA, anybody got ideas for homemade stakes? The tiny bamboo stakes are unsurprisingly getting overwhelmed (MIL strikes again). Local hardware store is out of the good ones and I’m not going to a big box.Remind me. We'll send him a red cap and a Speedo.

Soak the beets in water for a hour or a few. Should crisp em up.
Works with greens also....
