Weed Addiction or Booze Dependance. Which is Worse?

My belief is that a weed addict is generally more functional than a person that drinks to some level of inebriation daily. Now don't get me wrong, I love a good drink and have a well known affection for quality IPAs; but give me a stoner over a drunk any day.

    You?

Apparently I'm much more tolerable on the weed-only program. So there's that.

Booze is far more likely to fuck up your life if you live in a state where marijuana is legal (health concerns, DUI, etc). If you live in a state where possession of a joint is viewed in the same light as selling fentanyl laced heroin to middle schoolers, then it's more of a toss up.

Possession charges for less than 3.5g and/or dirty paraphernalia have royally fucked a couple of my friends over, and will likely limit their income potential for the rest of their lives.

Chronic use of the chronic is probably more sustainable in the sense that it's less likely to kill you either directly or indirectly than alcohol. The key with both seems to be moderation.

Thus far, the ~1g of herb and 1-2 beers per day program has been working for me. YMMV

    Neither is worse, or better.

The addiction is in the personality, and it manifests itself in different, destructive ways. Booze, pot, high risk sex and other behaviors, etc.

There is no meaningful comparison between substances when one is physically addictive and the other is not.

I agree, but I also think that alcohol has a much higher risk quotient. Any addictive behavior can be destructive, but not all addictive behaviors are inherently fatal on their own. Liver cirrhosis and alcohol poisoning is.

    Lefty. Dry. Pace yourself!

Regarding the addiction manifesting itself destructively but differently, that sounds right, I just find drunk behavior annoying unless it’s me or we’re together. I imagine sober folks laugh about what they see and hear around drinking people.

    A 1/4 oz a week seems like....a lot. An oz a month?

And I am certainly no Puritan.

As a matter of fact, yes. It’s fun watching the progression but it gets old quick usually.

This. All things in moderation. But if you have to lean towards one or the other, Herb is the way to go. Especially after a beer or two

too Much booze sucks and definitely has detrimental effects, while one can never get enough of the tasty bud
