    Casual clipless shoes for 2020?

Any recommendations for a more 'casual' style clipless shoe for backroad and gravel touring? A shoe that you can walk around town during a tour or bikepacking weekend in but still use SPD pedals for getting around? It's a bummer that 5Ten doesn't seem to make any. Something like the DZR Minna, for example, but that doesn't shred after a short period of time.

I have some pearl izumis that work ok for that purpose. Lace up. Pretty casual styling. Not particularly stiff. I think they call it something different now, but I believe they still have one or two shoes in the lineup that more or less look like that.

Haven't ridden them, but Ride Concepts has a shoe or two that might work as well.

Specialized 2FO Clip? If they fit my feet I would have gone for them.

There's all sorts of $100 commuter shoes that are perfectly sufficient. I saw one from, I think, Giant a few days ago that looked like it would do the job nicely, just enough tread that you could walk on dirt.

Im amazed how hard it is to find clipless commuter type shoes.

Maybe its time to consider double sided (spd/flat) pedals instead.

Does fiveten still do the 'district' shoe? Meant to be exactly that.

Edit, found the clip one https://www.adidasoutdoor.com/five-t...hoe/BTM22.html

Seems like they might have discontinued that one as there are so few available on the market.

I came across these Giros which could work with some black laces.

I like the one 3 star review saying they are too stiff for casual shoes and my thought is, sounds perfect.

Really? Well, your neighborhood isn't exactly a bike commuting hotspot. You may have to travel a little bit

The shoes are comfortable and work really well clipped into my mtn bike.

I also really like the looks of them. I'd think nothing of wearing them for after ride refreshments. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

    Very comfortable
Use them in a cycle class and they are great, comfortable and easy to put on. They also look decent and are good to walk around in. They appear to be durable. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

The Kestrels are pretty stiff to be a casual shoe. They look casual, but they walk like a stiff mtb shoe.
Remind me. We'll send him a red cap and a Speedo.

I've gone through a couple pair of casual MTB shoes from Shimano for commuting and gravel riding. Mine are laceup with a velcro strap and soles that are fine for walking reasonable distances at rest stops, around town, etc.

Usually less expensive than Sidi, Pearl Izumi, etc., and usually several styles to choose from - mostly dorky but one or two might meet your fashion standards. Here's a few:

I just saw these https://www.leatt.com/mtbshoes/ A bit more aggressive than a commuter and probably at least as good as the 5 10's.

Several of these shoes (like the Districts above) look like orthopedic shoes for old men when in all black. Who wants to wear the same shoes that Gramps has in the nursing home.

The only thing worse would be if the color was “sand”.

For what it's worth I've been really happy with my ride concepts transition shoes, up to you if they look casual enough but I am happy leaving them on to walk around/hang out/ do whatever post ride.

Just stand in the mud for a while and scuff 'em up on some rocks. Who gives a shit what your shoes look like anyway.

I picked up a pair of these last week. Only have 2 short trainer rehab rides so far but they walk around the house nice enough and aren't too stiff so far.
