How do I turn a Tiffany’s gift card into skis?

Fifteen year anniversary gift from my employer. There’s nothing at Tiffany’s I would ever want. Any ideas/strategies to convert this thing into gear? I have to pay taxes on it so I might as well get something good

There's a couple sites where you can sell gift cards, Raise is one of them, no idea how they are to use.

I think it's highly impractical to take a bunch of Tiffany gift cards to make skis. Are you thinking of using them for the top sheet? Cause that is kind of feminine. But, everyone has their weird taste in ski graphics.

If they gave it to you in a box, people sell them on ebay. You might as well go all in.

Good ideas. Thanks. I guess I need to figure out which methods get me closest to the face value.

Yeah. There’s a serious disconnect between how upper management views the world and how most of the street level people do. I’m sure they think we’ll love this shit. The 10 year gift was a watch so I guess this is a little better. I am grateful and all for sure but...

Web sites as mentioned. A few stores feature kiosks that you can visit and it accepts the gift cards and provides obviously a reduced face value in cash. Another option could be Facebook Marketplace where you list it and meet up to exchange the gift card for cash by someone nearby that shops and would be able to use the gift card.

www.giftcards.com/gcgf/coinstar-exchange and looks like the previously mentioned Cardpool also has some Kiosk machines in certain areas.

It's such a weird gift. Doesn't make sense from any angle.

I agree. I work for a huge company that also sells high margin (relatively) consumer goods so I was thinking they’re not paying face value for the cards either. It’s a weird world I live in.

I located one of the kiosks close to me. I think I’ll swing by and see how much I can get for it. Looks like the best I can hope for there is 850. I guess I’ve got some figurin to do.

While probably not appropriate, I could see a female subordinate in a Weinstein world receiving similar gifts when the boss is horny or saying sorry for being horny.

Perhaps trade it for a jacket at the Bogner store?

I used to work for a large Denver-based company that is notorious for being cheap AF, but gave employees a Tiffany's desk clock engraved with their name on it at their 5-year anniversary. A sea of miserable cubicle workers with gold-plated clocks counting down the hours

They don't sell skis but you could get 2 left rear-entry boots.

Being a tiffany card, you should look into other LVMH brands https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LVMH. Maybe you can turn it into $1k worth of cognac or champagne.

Skis are still a better option

Ha! I doubt it. It’s a huge company and this is the standard 15 yr bonus. What’s funny is that they took over a smaller company and had a big hiring spurt 15 years ago so a ton of my co workers are hitting our work anniversaries in sync with each other. We are all a little confused about how they make these choices.

A straighter man would inform them that a TIffany gift card was not very useful and could they instead do an Amex or Visa gift Card.
