In Praise of Inexpensive (relatively) (and GOOD) Liquor

    List.....

Evan Willams bourbon....can get for 18-20 per handle. Still 86 proof!!!

El Jimador 100% blue agave tequila. Can usually get for < 15 for silver.

    What you got?

And for DSM, canned wine spritzers do not count

Costco Kirkland house brand gin, spiced rum, French vodka, and tequila (blanco and anejo). They're all good and cheap

This is what I was going to say. Moving a little bit up in price (but still in the inexpensive range): their bourbon is good (though I preferred the previous incarnation that tasted like Knob Creek to me) and I'm currently enjoying their 12 year old blended scotch. I think it was under $40 for a big bottle.

Liquor prices here are outrageous compared to those south of the 49th. I must second the costco blends based on the shop after getting off the plane in maui. If they sold liquor in our costco up here, I would probably have a membership. Our cabinet always has protestant irish whiskey, german brandy, and a bottle of hornitos anejo. Vodka is usually supplied by stoli.

Jamison. I'll order it over anything more or less expensive, every time.

You are a good judge of whiskey. When I’m too feeble to ski (hopefully around 101 years old) and sitting on the porch yelling at the neighbor kids I plan to keep a mag of WT 101 next to my rocking chair at all times

Evan Williams 1783 is a decent sipper. For a few more bucks around here Eagle Rare is hard to beat for bourbon.

J&B blended scotch isn't bad, for a cheap scotch.

I'm not much for vodka anymore, but Kirkland vodka is very good and cheap.

Jameson's is a solid inexpensive irish whiskey.

For rum if you can get Havana Club from Cuba then the 7 year dark run is great and last time I bought it it was cheap.
