All winter long I save up my egg cartons then trade them to folks with chickens for free eggs the rest of the year. People seem to be able to raise plenty of chickens, but those cartons are a hot commodity.

If your concern is not dropping eggs they should be removed from one end of the carton and the empty end should be put towards the back of the fridge.
I am heartened to learn how many people remove eggs the way I do. Perhaps we should start a support group.

Actually, yer doing it the way the guy intended it to be done, judging by the patent for the design. Things changed for good in our household after proving to my better half that there actually is a right way to load the office paperwork roll.

You might want to monitor your food for ground glass.
I have been in this State for 30 years and I am willing to admit that I am part of the problem.

Winner...while technically not OCD I can see the mental illness involved.

Considering how many people here eat eggs, I am considering heavy investments in statins.

I agree it is a constitutional right for Americans to be assholes...its just too bad that so many take the opportunity...

I cook 4 eggs every day and I've never once thought about how they come out of the carton. Fuck you guys.
I put my left ski boot on first, every time.

I always put my right shoe on first.

When I set an alarm clock, the sum of the time can't add up to "13."
I.e., if I need to get up at 6:25, I'll set my alarm for 6:24 or 6:26.

Every time I back out of my garage in the morning I close the garage door.

    Every. Single. Time.

Unless it’s summer or I want to air out my garage. But other than that....every.single.time.

I think any comprehensive discussion of OCD on TRG should include a reference to dishwasher loading:

I generally throw things in the dishwasher any old way, although I put the biggest plates in the back so I can put smaller plates in the front without having to roll out the rack. When it starts getting full I rearrange things to get the most dishes in as possible and the dishes as clean as possible. This is rational, unlike the egg thing.
For OCD and pseudo OCD (what we're talking about) there has to be a major component of irrationality. Otherwise it's ARD (anal retentive disorder) or BNMTG (better not marry this guy) syndrome.

Like giving a shit how you, or anyone else, loads the dishwasher?

Edit: or caring about the accurate definition of OCD?

I thought everyone did it this way.

I like to mix them up but have unintentionally put the lighter colored ones at one end with the darker ones at the other end, but I use them randomly and move them towards the front to avoid offending them.

My wife likes to hard boil a half dozen and put them back in the container with the regular eggs.

Always fun when I grab one to eat, like a roulette game.
