There are so many dope MCs that have laid low in the background because they just want to make sick rhymes, and don't care about catchy songs and/or marketing. I've been big into hip hop since Raising Hell came out, and generally seek out the more underground stuff, but somehow RA The Rugged Man flew under my radar until relatively recently. There's many more I can put in this category, but he stands out to me because of how long he's been in the game before I heard of him.

Biggie or Fat Joe would be the most slept on rapper I would think. All those fat rolls would be comfy
(disclaimer: this is a dumb mattress joke and not a sexual sleep-with joke)

And never got into Kwest the Madd Ladd, but PRT was in the rotation back in the day. Got a couple albums on CD that I never got onto my computer, might have to dig them up and give them a listen.

There is a contingency who believe that Eminem completely bit Cage's style, both in terms of bugged out lyrical content and delivery (personally, I always felt that Em kinda jacked Masta Ace circa Slaughtahouse/Sittin' On Chrome...).
Regardless of where you stand on that, Cage is often overlooked.

I always revisit this album a few times a year. Classic. J-live always overlooked.
