Smoking a lot of aspirin or maalox would probably be bad though.

Some can do that, some cannot. I used to burn daily for yrs., but can no longer do that. Some Indica on a vacation is alright though. I don’t think I did any damage, I just don’t like the feeling all the time.

Fly to China for a 5 week work contract, right when a global virus shuts down the country, and when the country you want to return to threatens to lock the boarder to any foreigners who have visited China in the last 2 weeks....

Anecdotally, some of the hardest working people I know vape/smoke a lot of weed. Probably how they handle it. Also, scientifically, I don't believe there's much real world evidence of serious long term damage.

IMO some people smoke weed for years on end and seem to function fine, some people have a drink every day and function fine ... others not so much

so its really about realizing whether or not someone or something is fucking up your life in some way

Kind of ironic when coronavirus has so far killed zero people in the U.S., meanwhile the regular old flu has killed 10,000 people since October. Which is nothing new, the flu always kills a bunch of people. Just seems like the media always needs a scary virus du jour to freak everybody out and cause a big panic.

    I'd have to disagree.

Burning organic materials produces a number of carcinogens that are concentrated in the smoke; many of which (benzo[a]pyrene, benz[a]anthracene, other polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, other compounds in tar, etc.) are indisputable, well-proven carcinogens. These assorted carcinogenic compounds are made from burning anything organic: wood, tobacco leaves, marijuana leaves, doesn't matter.

Your lungs are basically one very thin layer of tissue-paper delicate cells that exchange gases between the environment and your blood. They have almost no protection. Damage them for long enough and you'll be stuck with chronic damage, cancer, or a number on a transplant list.

I'm thinking I misread the premise of the thread, but regardless, breathing in smoke repeatedly over decades is nearly a sure-bet for being fucked.

I loved smoking weed, did so for 40+ years.

    You are 100% correct.
