    Guess this ski specific tool?

Anybody know what this specific ski related tool is?
I’ve had to purchase it a few times, but have never personally had to use it.

I initially had a tangential or possibly duplicate guess: a screw hole un-volcano-er.

But the length suggests it's intended to accommodate bindings on the thrusty phallic side, thus the thrusty phallic thing must be interfacing with something on the top of a ski that already has a binding mounted.

How about a hand saving mock ski pole binding popper. Actually not a bad idea, if that's not what it is.

Looks like it was designed to press rather than rotate. Binding hole plug press? It just seems kind of long. Maybe some sort of boot tool to press into the heel from the inside? That's all I got. Google image search turns up nada.

I stand by my shitty caulk gun guess. Probably for injecting goop into boot liners.

    Ding Ding
It's a binding release tool. In the ski race world when athlete has compound tip/fib but his ski is still attached to his boot, it's pretty hard to press/release a 20 DIN binding without torquing his leg.
This tool clamps on the ski base, and the plunger pushes down the bindings, releasing them from their painfully attached ski.

Is this a common tool at a race? Is it something that coaches/race coordinator would have on hand?

I do a lot of things, but A-Net is not my specialty, BUT I am one of the "those guys" that makes you move the B-Net 6 inches after you've completed the job.

This is a tool the medial response team should have at all races. But it's not that common to see it, I haven't seen it in any normal ski patrol tool cache. It's for sure something we purchase with our medal response equipment at World Cup/Olympic level events.

I thot only god made us move the nets 6" , god is the head FIS official, but he only talks to cheif of race.

As long as you are playing god the B-nets should be moved 3 times, the 3rd time back to where they started our crew chief ( also ski bud ) gave the crew a rah rah openning address " be prepared to do something 3 times and remember to have fun ! "

A ski coach told me its all about the camera angles and how the banners look on the nets, so at beaver creek they used a lazer site to get the nets looking perfect 1st time
