FS: VW Katana 184 w/ Ion LT, skins

Hurts to sell these, but doing some consolidation. Maybe 25 days on these, about 50/50 backcoutry/lift served. On their second mount of Ion LTs at +0, 294bsl. First mount was with Kingpins at +1. Repaired cosmetic chip at tail. G3 Alpinist LT mohair skins. Would like to sell all together.

$500 shipped CONUS. $400 local pickup in Albuquerque/Santa Fe.

I think this might be what I’m looking for. Thing is I really don’t follow gear at all and I have never seen or held a pair of these. Anyone want to way in on if this is what I’m after.

I want a dedicated touring set up for the Kootenays. Mostly powder, but also spring conditions. I tend to like fat skis, I think these are 112 underfoot, little narrow, but should work.
Just a little funny to buy skis I’ve never seen.
I’ll go by local shop and see if they have some.

I have Technica Zero Guide boots in a 305 bsl. Do you think the 295 mount will adjust to that without a remount? Are they mounted on the line?

    Contemplating now....

I really really like these skis, I’m just not charging enough to take full advantage of the length and going to a 176 BMT109 to drop some weight. I’ve used them in-area and they do well on steep hardpack, so they’ll be great in spring b/c conditions. Yes, 112 underfoot, full rocker.

Maybe my favorite ski ever, backcountry or otherwise. I use mine in all winter conditions.

Just put in some 307bsl boots in and there’s pleeenty of room. I think the Ions have like 15mm adjustment each way fore/aft. Boot center is about -0.5cm behind mark, which I think will be just fine. I had them mounted on the line with my 294bsl boots.

Here’s images of the heel piece adjusted for the 307bsl boot:
