    For blister "prevention" - tincture of benzoin. It takes a few days to toughen up your skin and will stain your socks, so beware of that.

    I first heard of it in a running article.

    Apparently, people mix it with Vaseline and treat the paws of their hunting dogs. That one sounds strange, but if your hound gets split paw pads from trekking through marshes, WTF do I know?

    I seem to recall sports teams buying it in spray cans, using it to help tape jobs stick better.

    When I last bought it, it was from a pharmacy and came in a bottle.

    Walgreens has it on their website. Their site says the therapeutic use is to treat canker sores.

    The spray version is a bit pricey. If you're ok with a paper towel, etc, I never had trouble with buying it in bottle form.
