No, but we should continue to abide by standard COVID protocols (masking, not going out to eat/drink, not traveling, etc) until a significantly greater portion of the population is fully vaccinated than is currently. The people for whom the vaccine isn't effective are protected by herd immunity (or something close to it).

I think he said in a way what my wife said to our son when he called form the parking lot before going on an avalanche avoidance class. "If you want to avoid getting caught in an avalanche, stay in the parking lot." Anywhere we go and in everything we do we are making risk evaluations with no guarantee of survival.

Well, go back to my first post. My issue is this portion of the population that wont get poked, which seems to be enough to not reach herd immunity. If that's the case, well, screw them. I'm not waiting. And, stop with the fantasies about lockdowns and masking until then. Where has everyone been for a year? And a lot of governors are dropping mandates, not increasing them. This is it, and we're going to have to live with this virus for decades, probably, and whatever comes next. Just get poked and live.

I've been fully vaccinated for a month. I haven't gone out to eat or drink, I'm in the process of cancelling my summer travel plans (Canadian border still closed), and I'm perfectly happy to wear a mask in public.

There are still a lot of people who want to be vaccinated who haven't been yet. I'm just fine with maintaining the status quo for a bit longer. It's all about patience.

Right. Like I said, until September, which is giving a lot of people slack. Should be July. There's plenty of vaccine supply, plenty. After then, no more.

WTF are you on about now? Waiting to do what? You gonna buy a pass next year or something? This whole rant to the tune of "screw you guys I'm goin' home" has no context.

If you're planning to punish the anti-vaxers by infecting them at your lavish one-bedroom orgies with free coke (a-cola) and whichever escort you can sneak out of the nursing home then you should just say that. Quit keeping us in suspense.

    Speaking of a weird rant.

Yup, I'm going out there and only wearing a mask when I'm told to by authorities. Damn right Im buying a full Ikon pass, and using it. Really want to ski Italy next year, but, that looks iffy.

That'll show 'em. Work in some inappropriate language, halitosis and a little rotten pocket meat between 6 and 7 and you should have this situation well in hand.

Yeah cause no avalanche has ever hit a parking lot or infrastructures
or is that really the extent of your better 1/2s avalanche avoidance knowledge?

I haven't been bothered by masks really at all until lately. I'm starting to get pissed off at the sight of people walking around outdoors (by themselves or clearly with a SO) wearing a mask and far away from any other human. STUPID AS FUCK!!

We have outdoor mask mandates here, it doesn't matter if you're the only person on the block.

I did that the other day. I walked to the store. Put on mask when I left I was taking it off but the mask was keeping my face warm. I put it back on and walked home. And really I don't care what you think

They're great during fire season. And yeah, like anything, you can get used to it and forget to take it off. Or it's just easier to leave it on between stops.
What pisses me off are the people who don't cover their nose. Like, it's been over a year, dumbass. Mask up and shut up.

Try not to project your thoughts about their thoughts. That's what's bothering you. You have no idea if they're stupid or not, but you know you're imagining things to reach that conclusion. If your imagination is too strong, maybe try projecting smart reasons on them instead. Cold face, sunburned lips, pollen, dust, dry nose/throat (especially if they're sick). Only one reason to imagine you know, though.

That's how I feel. The ones who want everyone around them to be scared. We're going out and hanging out with people. Meet people we don't know. Enjoying life. If you're worried about dying. You stay home wear your double masks. It's your right. But your not my Mommy. And you can fuck off.

Rather than carry it or shove it in my pocket, sometimes it's easier to leave it on my face and wait until I get to the car to take it off.

Don’t go to Burlington (UVM) then.....it’s for real up there. Students have to double mask up there...on campus/off campus while in town. Crazy stuff....suspensions, expulsions aren’t going over well with the UVM community.

Obviously it depends on where u live....the mandates are so different. Example....school district and all extra curricular activities for staff, coaches and players are 100% masks at all times.....Then after my practice, the local little league softball and baseball teams comes to use the school district fields....and there is no mask mandate at all.....for anybody...lol.

So, it’s all so screwed up.....it’s why we’ll be in this hell for a long time.

Get the vaccine....and hope “someday” the powers that be will tell us everything is ok and we can go back to our preCovid lives.

Sometimes, especially for people in any kind of leadership position, it's about setting an example.
Sometimes? JFC, if you're outside, take off the mask. Sunshine and fresh air is good for you. That is insane about UVM.

Or yanno....you can do you and they can do them. Why add unnecessary strife to your life? Better they wear a mask than not in these Covid times.

Do I really want to be touching the outside (the exposed side) of my mask every time I’m going from one indoors public place to another?

Do I really want to be touching the inside of my mask with my ?dirty hands to take it on and off repeatedly so that strangers don't think I’m overly scared or an idiot?

Same goes in a vehicle - if I’m by myself running errands I’m leaving it on from one place to the next. I guarantee some people see that and think “look at that dumb fool wearin a mask all by himself hur hur hur what a scared idiot”

I see people here are very triggered by me thinking people are being stupid for wearing masks while walking down the street walking their dog all alone. Did you wear a mask two years ago when you did this? I know for a fact people never wore a mask all alone outdoors before. How about the morons out riding their bikes ALL alone and wearing a mask? Doesn't even make sense. And I'm talking about not just face buffs, but people wearing N95 masks with their kids wearing masks too on bikes.

I'm not allowed to think it's stupid and I should not think about it because it's not me? OK, I'll just not have a thought on anything. Why even have a thread on TGR forums.

The reality is that a lot of people are scared of what other people think of them. THAT's why they are wearing a mask all alone.
