She got 2 swabs stuck up her nose at an Urgent Care. Results came back same day. No idea which test she got. I'll go next week. Yeah, nothing makes much sense but I've learned to accept that.

Meanwhile the chickens keep coming home to roost.
I have been in this State for 30 years and I am willing to admit that I am part of the problem.

Can't make this up. Met with 2 friends that I haven't seen in many weeks. Both of their spouses got decently sick and they self-quarantined along with them for the holidays. Both slept, ate, lived with their spouses the entire time. Openly kissed, snuggled, and cared for them maskless. Both never tested positive, after nearly a score of daily testing.
So mysterious. All involved double vax and boosted.

My daughter's pissed because her school theater performance group just got shut down due to Omicron outbreaks. It's a temporary measure for now but not looking good for happening this month as scheduled. She blames antivaxers and anti maskers for wrecking it for everyone else... I suspect the school itself would also be shut down to remote learning if the city didn't still have indoor mask mandates that are being pretty sell followed most places.
Hoping that worst case scenario is that they just move the performance a month or so out and outdoors like they did with the fall project. When I saw they were planning to do it in the indoor venue I kind of expected there to be problems..Go that way really REALLY fast. If something gets in your way, TURN!

Meanwhile California now says it’s totally cool for force COVID positive medical workers to work and not quarantine and CT is sending COVID patients to nursing homes.

So you're good with shutting everything down to full China style lockdowns? It would seem so because that's the alternative to cutting the isolation period in half and letting people who feel OK to return to work fully masked. If they stay home twice as long, twice as much shit has to be shut down.
Go that way really REALLY fast. If something gets in your way, TURN!

You know, maybe not fire a bunch of unvaxxed employees is a third option.
Or actually, maybe it just shows COVID really isn’t the death sentence you think it is.

I have to imagine that the risks of bringing vaccinated staff back early to keep essential services running are lower than staffing with unvaccinated people.
The fact that the CDC is considering ways to loosen the restrictions so that society can function isn’t evidence that the pandemic isn’t virulent. It is evidence that virus research is progressing and that public health officials understand the implications of lockdowns on society and are making thoughtful strategic decisions that minimize problems and allow society to function.
But keep purposely misunderstanding the exact concessions made to your goal of opening society as failures, when in reality they move the needle in the direction you think you’re arguing for, just more safely.

Having those unvaxxed health care workers outta the hospital likely helped limit covid cases/outbreaks in those facilities. Probably saved some lives. Including some of the fired people.
Also it’s been clearly shown that mandates (what led to the firings) increased vaccine uptake - another bonus.
But if you need to see this as proof that covid ain’t so bad and having health care workers not be vaccinated against a contagious communicable disease that is dangerous to the sick, the elderly, and the immune compromised (ie those people who the resistant minority of people state are the only ones who need vaccines and restrictions) then go ahead.
But people of average intelligence and above can see that instead this is more of a sad state of affairs where hospitals have to balance risk of unvaxxed staff versus shutting down and which will be worse at this moment in time.
The fact that ICUs are constantly being overrun by unvaxxed people (including unvaxxed health care workers) is either lost on you or you choose to ignore it so you can get some smug satisfaction out of a situation that is more complicated than you are allowing.

You dipshits are seriously trying to say that firing unvaxxed employees was more effective at preventing spread than bringing actual COVID positive but vaxxed workers back to work?
Keep fucking that chicken.

First off it’s just me. Other people can post what they think.
You keep criticizing the system and the world we live in for not being foolproof. Guess what - that’s impossible. Sorry your parents didn’t teach you that nothing is perfect and nothing is certain.
In a perfect world covid positive healthcare workers would not be at work. Neither world unvaxxed health care workers - regardless of covid status.
But the Herman Cain award candidates are still flooding the ICUs. The same dipshits who are yelling “covid isn’t dangerous!” (ie you) are also at the same time yelling “Hey! The hospitals are being so overrun with covid (that you just said isn’t a big deal) and as a result some have to have covid positive staff come back in order to keep functioning!”
So which is it? Is covid something that is overwhelming hospitals or is it no big deal?
