Numbers, is that all that worry’s you?
How about Democrats don’t get covid, and when they do, it’s a Republicans fault.
They may go out to bars, fly around the world on ski trips, go maskless, but it’s some inbred in Alabama that is to blame.

Republicans should worry about the high morbidity and mortality of their voter base versus Dems. With so many districts decided by fractions of a percent, this could literally swing elections.

The covid heuristic trap--everyone is looking for a reason--they're not obese, they're not diabetic, they're under 80, or 70, or 50 , or 20, they wear their mask in the shower--why they don't have to be worried about covid and can do whatever it is they want to do. They're looking for a reason why they can break whatever rule it is they want to break, as long as no one else breaks any rule. And I'm as guilty as anyone else, of course.
Benny is obviously very proud of being thin. Got news for him, in the Donner Party the thin ones died. In the hard times to come Benny is going to make an excellent source of protein for someone.

sorry for spaming this thread : )
a number one hit from austria
and if you did not know
david h broke down the berlin wall himself
omnicron is now dominant in austria,
new quarantine rules will be announced on friday
rumors say: they are fucking antivaxxers right up there ass
(every contact person needs to quarantine for 14 days)
only vaxxed ones can test out of contact quarantine after 5days
so in a school class with one omnicron case all have to stay home
same with kindergarten
or offices
lets see for friday what the official take is going to be

Everybody knows fat fucks have health problems. Like any part of this debate the same 10 people keep perpetuating the fear. I’ve never seen a more prolific example of virtue signaling in my life than with anything COVID related.
Meanwhile, even the Times is throwing up warning flags about the kids. Parents other than the 10 posters here are over the bullshit.

Go yell at school boards that voted against mask mandates and vaccination mandates. Our district has been fairly fine in NH as they have one, every district I know of that doesn't have a mask mandate is a complete shitshow staffing and exposure wise. My kids have been in school in person all this school year with only one "remote day" due to ice conditions. It's doable, but it means people have to act like adults and make actual sound decisions around public health.

Depends on your definition of "doable." 40% of Earth is supposed to be infected with Omicron in the next few months. Mask and vaccine mandates certainly help, but they will not stop this. Every school on earth will have numerous and repeated Omicron outbreaks in the coming months. How is this going to be doable?

Well, the steps are fairly clear:
1. Vaccinations - vaccines protect against the worst outcomes. If you aren't, get vaccinated to help protect yourself and others from overloading ICU's (which are predominantly unvaccinated individuals)
2. Mask when indoors - Again, it's a layer of protection and reduction of spread.
3. Don't lick doorknobs/strange things - I really shouldn't have to say this, but...
4. Be fucking reasonable - if there's a bunch of outbreaks - maybe cancel bowling league etc. Pretending this isn't out there isn't helpful.
You're correct in that it will be harder with the volume of outbreaks likely to occur, but that doesn't mean there aren't any risk reduction steps that can be taken nor steps to reduce potential impacts. You want to go scream at someone because life sucks right now - go ahead, but it doesn't make any whit of difference to the virus. Some things are off the table in the near future if you want to be responsible, like bars with strangers. You want to be irresponsible - you do you. I am so fucking over trying to give a paint by numbers for people too stubborn or ignorant on how to make things better because they just want to do what they want to do rather than listen.

You should take your own advice and realize that outside of vaccines everything else they are doing in schools is doing fuckall in terms of COVID and is not sound decision making.
803 kids under 18 have died total, and that miniscule number includes kids who died for other reasons but were asymptomatic COVID positive. Don't believe me? See your boy Tony.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Aktzp4jSXY8
803 out of 73.5 million. Over the same timespan 40,000 others died for other causes. That's 2% of total deaths and less than 1 thousandth of a percent of the overall population under 18, and includes cases where COVID was not the cause. Meanwhile 20% of those deaths were from car accidents. 15% from homicides. Cancer at 10%. Suicide just after that. The fact there are any restrictions on school or kids at all because of COVID is fucking laughable. Meanwhile millions of kids are no longer proficient in math or reading. Millions more have mental health issues. Thousands have committed suicide. The list goes on.Live Free or Die

So remind me how mask mandates prevent kids from going to school. Or vaccine mandates. Go ahead. I'll wait.
The biggest thing closing schools here is lack of staff. Why is there a lack of staff? Because they either get COVID or don't want to deal with the batshit insane antivax parents any more. Or they died of COVID. Masks and vaccinations reduce that, and a school board or administration with the nuts to tell antivaxxers to go fuck themselves because they're endangering teachers (you know, the people there needs to be a minimum number of for a school to open?) is one that people will work for. I know multiple teachers that just retired last year as they were so tired of dealing with shitty parents about masking when the kids don't give a shit.
Please tell me your proposal for opening schools that has an actual factual basis that allows them to remain open. Your bandying about of unrelated stats isn't actually helping your case. All you're doing is screaming "THINK OF THE CHILDREN" while doing none of the legwork around "what does it take to open, staff and run a school in a way that's sustainable with pandemic risks?"
There's no magic wands man, you gotta actually do the work that's not five minute facebook research, but meaningful ops research and practices.

I'll repeat, we now have a segment of our population, many in power, that do not want all this to end, especially the WFH bourgeoisie, and the latter have a shit ton of collective power.

I'm not as worried about my kids dying from COVID as I am from them developing long-haul or having lifelong lung damage. AR, instead of binary thinking (dead vs. not dead) consider having a more nuanced view. thanks
Damn shame, throwing away a perfectly good white boy like that

Masks aren't doing shit for a teacher in a room with the same 20-30 people for 6 hours a day. MIT or just you know, your own brain can tell you this:

Meanwhile it has drastic effects on their mental health, nevermind the speech and language issues I already spoke about.
PS, show me where I was anti-vaccine. Its the only thing that helps and beyond that people need to get on with living.Live Free or Die
