That’s really fucked up and sad. In my anecdotal experience I would put it at 1-2% of doctors don’t care about their patients or how good a job they are doing. Not trying to disagree with what you experienced.

KQ - the paper you linked doesn't support any of the comments I inferred from your statement.

    1. The Spanish flu causes a cytokine storm in people
    2. The cytokine storm occurs in healthy individuals with strong immune systems
    3. The cytokine storm was the cause of death

All that paper says is that 2009 H1N1 causes a cytokine storm in mice and ferrets. They didn't test the Spanish flu directly.

Here's the original paper FYI (https://www.pnas.org/content/111/10/3799)

To be clear, I have seen speculation that cytokine storms may be involved in CV19 and some physicians are using Kevzara (Sarilumab) to try to blunt the inflammation, but nothing has been tested rigorously that I've seen.

    smaller Shrimp.

The country is moving on, this is now normal. There are TV commercials about it. We will re-open and there will be outbreaks and hot-spots and deaths and we will get on with our lives, sort of. It will be the 20s version of the war in the ME or the 60s version of Vietnam. Daily casualty figures with the pro-Business at any cost folks screaming they are fake, overstated or just the cost of getting to Herd Immunity. This will be a vocal minority and the rest of us will just move on.

Got feed the machine ya know.

It not what they are fed that is the issue. It is more of living in their own shit, antibiotic, pesticide slurry thing destroying estuaries thing.

and it's not indigenous to china. it's farmed species everywhere. they live in close quarters and predators don't ferret out the sick and weak. that includes chickens pigs cows salmon shrimp, etc

They are putting themselves thru med school by dancing. Reporting is just a side hustle where they can use their medical knowledge during this pandemic

I use gloves not as a way of having my hands be safer, but as a way of having a pealable layer of skin, so to speak. So I wear the gloves into a store, and when I get out of the store, I carefully take them off and onto the floor of my car, and my hands are "clean".

I reuse the gloves after they sit for a few days, FWIW, and I sure as fuck don;t toss them on the ground.
Using gloves the way you use them, to protect yourself as an alternative to washing or sanitizing, makes sense. What doesn't make sense is for someone serving the public, stocking shelves, etc to use them as a means of protecting the public. Handwashing or sanitizing between customers for someone serving the public, frequently for someone not directly serving the public.
