My wife and I chose to live in California because our whole immediate family are here. They are all still alive (for now). Several of the 70+ yo’s have some co-morbid stuff going on, but are in a maintenance mode. However, after speaking to and observing a coworker that repatriated to NZ (got out of quarantine last week), my wife has been looking at what it might take to move there with our kids (and dog and cats). Feels like a long shot, but fkna! This shit ain’t getting any better.

Yup. My dad is the same way: you put your mask on at your last known clean/safe point, and you don't touch it or your face again until you are back at a known clean/safe point and have thoroughly washed your hands. Who gives a shit if someone is being proactive about protecting themselves and others?

I own several different masks that are comfortable enough that you could easily forget you are wearing them.

This seems like a much more advisable strategy then putting it on and taking it off constantly to me. I'm not wearing a mask while I'm driving my car or somewhere were no one else is around, but I don't have a problem if people choose to do so. It's a lot smarter than refusing to wear a mask. People need to get over this strange notion that wearing a mask is some kind of freakish behavior.

Now that's actually something I hardly ever do. Ski pants are so expensive and new environmentally friendly DWR is so delicate that I only wear them when I actually need them. A lot of days I don't put them on until I'm in the parking lot and I take them off/shake them out/fold or hang them before I leave the lot at the end of the day.

Granted, I make building inspector money and like high end outerwear, so I tend to take very good care of it.
