One of the requirements is less than 10 new COVID-10 cases per 100,000 residents over a 14 day period and King currently sits at 39. The worst county in the state is Yakima with 408. They've got a long road ahead.
We applied for a variance not really sure why since we will probably open on June 1. A show for the citizens I suppose. It's been almost 10 days without a positive case here and now people on FB are claiming that's because they aren't testing trying to fudge the numbers so we can open early.

First they say it's all fake and hoax and now that things are looking good it's fake too. WTFever.

Yakima is screwed. Highest cases per capita on the entire west coast. Then there is that city councilman who is Qanon/3%er urging people to defy the orders to stay home.

    Speaking of barber shops:

A lot of people--the same ones who won't wear masks--will refuse to be tested lest they be quarantined or just because . I wonder what the legal status of mandatory testing is. I doubt the govt can make people get tested. You can refuse to be tested for blood alcohol, although you will lose your license. I doubt people who frequented the other businesses the hairstylist went to are at more than minimal risk.

I'm guessing her co-workers who were in proximity all day long have the greatest likelihood of infection, more so than people who sat for a 30 minute haircut. I guess they'll all find out how effective those face coverings prove to be in that environment. Hopefully we'll see some follow up on this incident.

I likewise am upset by the fact that he can't just set a good example for his already jumpy followers and wear a damn mask in places where everyone else is.

That being said, shaming him the one time he wears a mask feels good but...... are you trying to score points against the dickbag or do you really want to see the right wing nuts chill the fuck out about masks and feel OK about wearing one?

Let's see... she was wearing a mask so.... if people don't get infected deniers will say it's because the virus isn't that contagious. If people do get infected they will say the masks don't work so they are right not to wear them and either way we just need to let it run it's course and develop herd immunity at the expense of a few lives. Win-win!

I noticed that maui county is building little shelters to allow for isolation of those infected and not needing hospitalization. They look awful, but hopefully will help with containment and can be an example for other areas to follow.

My question would be what if those with adverse effect had malaria? Wouldn't they have the same adverse reaction?

The side effects are known. I am far from a doctor, but can side effects change based on the malady the drug is treating? I didn't think they did. All drug have side effects, many with same as hcq/cq. Why not try if your Dr and you know the risks?

Please Drs chime in as I really don't know if side effects can get worse if your sick with something else. I mean aside from chemo that is, that's obvious. Covid though?

I don't have any specific knowledge re hydroxychloroquine but it would make sense that the risk of the drug--which is that it slows electrical conduction in the heart--would be higher in patients who have a disease which can affect the heart, which Covid 19 does. The package insert for HCQ does not have a black box warning, which means the risk of an adverse reaction in the average user is low, although the potential risks are very serious when they do occur. My guess is that the researchers who did the study were surprised that it increased the death rate. I imagine that they expected that it would help a little or not at all but not harm.

Have you seen him in white golf gear? He's, what, 74, does shit for exercise and stretching, and sits on the throne for an hour or maybe more every morning rage tweeting while he tries to expel fast food from last week. I'm seriously amazed he can stand and walk and talk at this point. It's really unfair on a macro personal fitness level. Hopefully, he drops like a stone from stroke or cardiac failure soon.

Azithromycin also can affect the heart in the same way (Trump said he took one dose of this) - when comboíd together two or more drugs with the same effect on the heart you can get an additive effect and the risk goes up. Azithromycin isnít used in malaria treatments. There are lots of other drugs that people might be taking for other health reasons that also affect the heart on the same way - if people start taking what Trump is taking without understanding the risk they may get into trouble if other medications they are taking add to the problem.

The risk of these heart problems are also going to be higher the older you are. Or if you have had previous heart problems - which are also the people at higher risk of bad covid infections - so the people who might be more likely to be considered for these treatments.

Even without the addition of the azithromycin the combo risk of older age, history of heart problems (which goes up with age), covidís effects on heart and lungs (not commonly found in malaria infections), and the adverse effects of hydroxychloroquine on the heart = you would really want to decide if the benefit outweighs the risk.

If hydroxychloroquine cured 90 out of 100 covid patients while killing 1 would you risk it?

What if it cured 1 out of 100 and killed 1 other?

    (Iím making these numbers up)
