Only thing I couldn't find here today was hand sanitizer and that's just temporary until more comes in tomorrow. Lots of alcohol and aloe if I REALLY wanted to make some which I don't - only wanted it for my 85 yo mother but she said she already has some.
Frankly I'm not sure it would do much more good than just keeping my hands from my face and washing when I get home from being out. Seems almost useless when you think about how you touch everything - my purse, sunglasses, phone, car keys, car door handle etc. etc.“When you see something that is not right, not just, not fair, you have a moral obligation to say something. To do something." Rep. John Lewis

This is the next BIG THING. The last BIG THING was the democratic primary, before that was the impeachment and then something something, and then Mueller, yadda yadda yadda.
The world needs to be a part of a story, this will be a big one and we will still be in to it by July 4th. Unless an even BIGGER THING comes along.I have been in this State for 30 years and I am willing to admit that I am part of the problem.

X post from the stock market thread,
WASHINGTON – President Donald Trump tried to calm nerves amid the global outbreak of coronavirus while touring the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta on Friday, but the visit took a political turn after he slammed Washington state's Democratic governor who is grappling with the rapidly growing epidemic.
Trump said he warned Vice President Mike Pence not to trust Gov. Jay Inslee during his Thursday visit to Washington state, which has been among the hardest hit areas across the U.S. with 10 deaths reported so far.
"I told Mike not to be complimentary of that governor because that governor is a snake," he told reporters while donning a "Keep America Great" hat at the CDC in Atlanta. "We have a lot of problems with the governor."
Trump's visit to the federal agency battling the growing coronavirus epidemic comes after CDC officials faced backlash for developing and mailing flawed testing kits. The agency said it fixed the glitch.

The fucking hat. I mean, cmon. We are screwed on this one. He's decided to fight a blue state governor who hosts the most cases,, in public. Insult him. Fortunately most of us won't die, but, the world economy is fucked.

Welp, lots of big truth and perspective in this quote. This I thought of the other day as well.
It makes sense for the news channels to be somewhat excited to have a story like this to cover. Certainly a case to be made people are buying in to media over hype.... the people buying up all the toilet paper?? like WTF?

This toilet paper things perplexes me. I mean really in the pantheon of true things I can’t substitute, toilet paper is low on the list. In a true quarantine emergency you could use old shirts, newspapers, take a hot shower etc. plus it’s made domestically so even the lag in sea containers would have little to no impact.
If you think the world is really ending I guess dying with a clean ass may be a priority to some. Just really odd.

Sure, nothing to worry about, unless you end up in the hospital like 15-20% of those infected. But only 15% of those people end up dead so even then you'll probably be fine, eventually, maybe.

Icemaing, it was a nice thought but I am in no shape for that road trip. Maybe when this blows over we can grab a beer. I'll probably have to go to Maine a few times this summer. Close enough?

Just got some crazy news from my son who is studying in Dublin, Ireland this semester. Some of his friends on his dorm floor got kicked out of their dorm rooms today to open space for kids who may need to be quarantined with the bat flu. Good times.

I get being on the safe side, and having a two-four week supply of TP, as it looks like a LOT of people will be self quarantined, and won’t be able to just go to the store without being a douchebag...but a shopping cart full?
Fear.
Pretty soon everyone will have gotten their hoarding jollies out, and supply will ease up, unless it is all coming from China.Forum Cross Pollinator, gratuitously strident
