Unless there was a national strategic reserve of level-three surgical masks (one billion-plus masks) as well as a mechanism to distribute them in a timely fashion at the onset of this Chicom Bat-Death Virus epidemic, it's an exercise in fantasy to conjure up a substantially different outcome through forced mask adornment. Eye protection would have been needed, too.

What ought to have been done earlier, and was discussed here (or in the main forum with respect impending to ski area closure), was to limit and/or close indoor, in particular crowded, public gatherings. In that thread, I pointed out that the restaurants and lodges of ski areas / resorts were ideal venues for virus-sharing, whereas lift lines and chairs were unlikely to contribute much to spread.
