(She claims a cane makes her look old, so I cut down a ski pole and put a rubber tip on the end, she claims it makes her look “adventurous”...). Anyway, with me on one arm and the ski pole in the other hand we entered the store masked. Owners were there (man & woman) and they recognized my Mom, woman extended her hand to shake mine, I did not extend mine, and I politely asked that they please both mask up. They went behind the counter and rummaged around, then announced they did not have any masks. I told them we were taking our business elsewhere, and escorted Mom back to the car. Mom thanked me profusely for standing my ground.

I was prepared to drop well in excess of $5,000 yesterday at their store, today I am shopping online.

I did this same thing when I bought my new truck. Went to the local place fully prepared to buy a canopy and maybe some other goodies. No masks, I ordered online.

damn, it’s almost like you can’t form any other argument or any rebuttals against any other argument because you can’t get past the fact that people make mistakes. They’re the same virus. It’s not recommended for people under 50 - which is why I was unaware it was necessary as I’m not at risk. Same with covid. But apparently that’s not good enough for the hive mind of cunts that are on TgR here

Double post but I don’t care because I feel like it needed to be said. Harry you’re a cunt like everyone else on here that ignores anyone with a differing opinion. You’re the reason this country is ass backwards and can’t move forward. Let’s go the way of monopolies though that don’t pay taxes or have any societal responsibilities like Amazon! Fuck local businesses!!

you guys are the same jackasses that complain you can’t find any good people around in your area. There’s a reason they’re all leaving the shitty places of the US…

Honestly I think bennymac might have to update the self-pwn list with the "but you're doing what you're trying to do!!!" nonsense. At least shingles ignorance was obvious. What gives here? CTE?

There are people I have on ignore because they are insufferable cunts who like to "just ask questions".

OTOH, Hockeypuck is entertaining as he self-owns so much that for now he remains for here me to see and get some amusement.

The Covid vaccine is most certainly recommended for people under 50 because they are at risk. Even for healthy individuals a serious case of Covid can be worse than the flu and lead to hospitalization. How do I know this? We have many healthy people in the icu and a few on ventilators. I know of half a dozen patients under 40 with no significant comorbidities that have died at the hospital that I work at. Many more that were hospitalized for a few days on high flow oxygen and steroids. They survived but continue to suffer from long Covid symptoms.

My wife's sense of taste and smell has not completely returned after 6 months. This far out it's plausible that it's permanent. It may not be debilitating in any way and she's totally fine otherwise, but it still sucks.

This is, probably irrationally, the main reason I'd like to avoid COVID completely. Losing smell and taste would be a nightmare.

I have a friend who hasn't regained a sense of taste and smell even months later, says coffee, for example, tastes like water.

You read a half page patient handout on shingles written for a layperson and then assumed you had a physician’s or immunologist’s level of understanding. To the point you called anyone who disagreed with your understanding “a total retard”.

^ If you want to know why the US is going ass backwards read the above paragraph again ^

When you are as wrong as you were (ie: 100% wrong) while saying it with total conviction (calling anyone who didn’t understand the topic as well as you do a retard) don’t be so butthurt that people are criticizing or ignoring your “differing opinion”.

This whole “differing opinion/alternative facts/respect my own views” is the softest load of snowflake bullshit to ever come out of society. The fact that this behavior is being blamed on far left woke millennials is hilarious seeing as how the vast majority of harm from this is coming from science/election result deniers.

Do some self reflection. Realize you don’t know shit about medicine or immunology. Let that realization be present whenever you read something about covid.

    This. So much this.

History will reflect on the undeniable irony of the dwindling white Christian majority, blaming the failures of today on the youth and “the libs.” All the while they dig their own grave from their pride and idiocy. The fragility of humanity at its finest.

REALLY glad I can taste and smell more than that. Honestly, I just wish so badly there would be a mask mandate for Sam, our 11 year old in school, or any schools for that matter. I'm highly worried now more than before he'll bring it home to DTM or me again. They both somehow didn't get it when I had it and I'd hate for them to go through worse than what mind was and mine was fairly "mild"...minus the no smell and taste that lasted a long time. I don't see it returning to completely normal, probably ever.

I'm curious about your mom needing a cane.

    Is it for balance?

Does she or did she lift weights for legs?

I hear that strong legs help with balance.

What’s the going theory on the neurological component related to the longer term loss of taste and smell.

An emergency room RN was the first person that I know to catch covid and share a lot of their experiences. They still has not have taste and smell.
