Not like he was using them.

Or simply likes to take contradictory positions simply to start arguments.
Maybe he could start a “Benny argues with himself” thread and swing back and forth between wildly oppositional viewpoints.

Fear and Loathing, a Rat Flu Odyssey
Some real world observations. Over the weekend nearly all hospital admissions through the ED were Covid positive regardless of what they showed up for. We’ve got a fair number of hospitalizations that are for Covid and in isolation, around 25. We’ve got 4 in the ICU and they are intubated and unvaccinated. Ages are all over the place. We’ve started adjudication of elective surgeries again because we have no beds. This isn’t entirely Covid related but staffing and taking transfers from other hospitals plays into it. We’ve now got a rolling Covid roll call. Everyone is getting it and it’s 10 days out of work. We’re running low on PCR tests so staff and elective patients are limited to antigen testing. I’m not really seeing the utility of testing at this point, we should just assume everyone has had it, has it or will get it soon. Good luck everyone!
I’m not anti vaccination and agree with a lot of what Benny is posting. The claims of rampant and widespread fraud about Covid deaths and treatment are laughable though. As it stands the pandemic seems over for Americans. I wouldn’t boldly claim that it’s the end of Covid. The pandemic is over because people don’t care and omicron seems relatively harmless. I’m not betting that there won’t be another more dangerous variant though, I’m hopeful though.

The number we are not seeing--or at least I can't find it--is how many of those 2000 deaths per day are vaccinated vs unvaccinated. Lots of anecdotal reports that the ICU's are full of unvaccinated people but no hard national numbers. Here's a conspiracy theory I could believe--that the CDC doesn't want people to know that vaccinated people are dying, because that might discourage some people from getting vaccinated. More likely the data is just not available in the reports from the states.
As far as the pandemic being over--I hope as much as anyone that omicron is the end of it and that if you've had your shots you can stop wearing a mask and start doing whatever you want to do. That we can stop testing and simply tell people to stay home when they're sick--from whatever virus they might have--come back to work when they feel better, and let the unvaxed take their chances. But the data is not there yet, and after two years of false predictions anyone who thinks they know what will happen next is an idiot.
The pandemic is far from over when people are dying, having surgery canceled, lying in ERs for days, for lack of hospital and ICU beds. Just because we're not seeing video and pictures of people on ventilators every day doesn't mean it's not happening. Just like the war in eastern Ukraine didn't go away because it stopped being on the news--how is that working out? It's easy for people to think it's over until it affects them.
Don't mistake wishful thinking for fact.
