Some quick Googling reveals that his main claims to fame are that he fraudulently claims to have invented email as a high school student, and he dated Fran Drescher for several years.

I'm absolutely convinced Trump has it, especially after watching his speech last night. And he's shaken hands with too many who do have it, especially this guy. All in the window of contagiousness.

Days after being near Trump and Pence, Brazilian official tests positive for the virus, reports say.
A senior Brazilian government official who visited Mar-a-Lago days ago, and was in close proximity to President Trump and Vice President Mike Pence, has tested positive for the new coronavirus, according to the several Brazilian news outlets.

Park City is sold out of toilet paper. I will never yell at my wife again for insisting that we have a bidet in the house. Hahaha

    Good point.

I still think the hysteria is overblown. Mass gatherings should be limited, but canceling schools when the state of 3? million has 4 cases seems extreme at this point. It will put a lot of parents in a really difficult situation financially if they cannot work.

When he was 14 he wrote program and called it email. Email the technology predates his timeline by over a decade.

It's a case of being proactive vs. reactive. The number of known cases in Utah is pretty much irrelevant.

Well, they cancelled. Fucking sucks, I had a lot of big plans for 6 days at home without the kids.

The similarity to AIDS and transfusions is this--during the height of the AIDS crisis more and more people who needed transfusions opted for directed transfusions, where friends and family with the right blood type would donate blood for elective surgery specifically to be given to the designated person. People felt more comfortable getting blood from people they knew. Research showed that random, anonymous blood was safer than directed donation. The point being that your friends and family are not any healthier than strangers, on average. Now you have a point--if you always ride a lift with the same people then the total number of people you are exposed to during the course of the day is fewer, so the odds that one of them having CV is lower, but if you really want to reduce your chances of getting sick the best thing you could do is not ride in the same car. Also stay out of the lodge.

And this is pure speculation on my part--sitting next to someone on a moving chairlift exposes you to fewer viruses and bacteria than sitting next to them indoors.
The great majority of different people I sit next to during the course of a winter are strangers on chairlifts and I get far few colds than I did when I was working, and far, far fewer than when I had school age kids. Totally unscientific opinion of course.

Flatten curve of cases vs time (that now famous graph). Trying to get a flashy term for people to get their social altruistic shit together.

    I like this bit

returning to MIT, where he's generally described by his colleagues as a nut and fraud—the terms "asshole," and "loon" were tossed around freely by professors who were happy to talk about their coworker but prefer to remain anonymous. "Don't know him, but [he] didn't invent email. If he claims to have done so he's a dick," said one MIT brain.
