Shame what they did to Dr. Semmelweis... but people listened to Florence Nightengale... wonder how much that had to do with their personalities vs the culture of the Austro-Hungarian Empire vs the British Empire.

Didnt mean to delete the post you quoted.
Until the late 19th century women were much better off in the care of midwives than of doctors.

Interesting spin. The walls and barriers are being built by villages to keep people out
Makes more sense. I would wall off my village in China

I've taken care of people with Serratia Marcesans--people with serious illnesses, injuries and operations. Very nasty infection.

I was in Shanghai from Jan 10th - 18th...my last few days there I believe this was just starting to get going in Wuhan. Myself and a bunch of colleagues (~30 from around the world) who were visiting our employer's HQ for their annual CNY business meetings and company party all got out at just the right time.

I have 2,000 colleagues there....the local Shanghai government officially extended their CNY holiday period from Jan 31st to Feb 10th.

Unprotected is OK so long as the animal is dead.

    Seriously.

Aussie scientists have managed to grow it in the lab, which is a good sign that a vaccine is coming sooner than later: https://www.reuters.com/article/us-c...-idUSKBN1ZR2YD
