Sweden is orderly in part because public and psychological reactions to acts of disorder are somewhat harsh and traumatic. Florida man behavior, at large, would be unexceptionable. Sweden is libertarian in the sense of what economists call state capacity but they have capable social structures, capable civil society, and capable social norms.
Swedes also have high trust in government authority, their healthcare system, and even though they aren't on lockdown large percentages are social distancing, working from home, etc. (via google translate):
"The Corona virus forces many Swedes to work from home, but Sweden has already had good conditions and a high degree of distance workers.
Due to the new coronavirus and the spread of covid-19 disease, many Swedes are now experiencing a different working situation. The Public Health Authority has recently invited everyone who can work from home, especially in the Stockholm area."
"Only 9% of Swedes have not changed behavior at all due to the Corona virus. Nearly half of Swedish workers stay home from work for some reason now. 21% are home from work due to illness or have milder illness that makes them stay home."

Nothing beats a local paper for amateur constitutional analysis. Though the second amendment crowd would like it to be different, none of the rights in the bill of rights are absolute. You have freedom of speech, but you can't yell "fire" in a crowded theater as a joke and trigger panic. You have freedom of religion but that doesn't allow you to murder people who don't follow your religion. Etc. What right the state is limiting and why figure into a set of fairly nuanced balancing tests. But generally, if you exercising a certain right would lead to thousands of people potentially dying, there's a good chance the state can limit your exercise of that right within the bounds of the constitution.

So, a young patient is lying in bed in the hospital with a respirator mask on, very sick. The nurse comes in to give him a sponge bath. He nods and says to her, "Nurse, could you please do me a favor? Could you tell me if my testicles are black?" The nurse says, oh, I'm just here to sponge your neck and feet, I really shouldn't. He says, "No, could you please tell me if my testicles are black?" She thinks about it, and decides to look and ease the poor young man's fever addled mind. She pulls down the covers, grabs his penis and gently examines his testicles, and says, No, your testicles look fine. He takes his mask off, says, "That was very nice, but, would you please tell me if my test results are back."

I get a slight allergic reaction to edible cannabis (Pollen?) and still have some seasonal allergies. Every little cough and I worry it’s onset of rat flu. No drink, no drugs for a while. Why take chances with respiratory and immune systems?

The pellegrino cracks me up, because being a white collar redneck whenever I hunt game like pigs or today, turkey, I inevitably have a bottle of the stuff and my friends and family give me shit about it. So now I go out of my way to always have some.

"Our practices, lost not as a direct result of epidemic mortality but the frantic effort to prevent it, seemed when we had access to them to be merely things we did, but can now be seen as substitutes for existential meaning: the office, the pub, the restaurant, the foreign holiday, the cruise. When you aren’t going anywhere, the danger is that you might start seeing the way things are going. Just as medieval peasants wondered whether the world would end if they refused to give their lord their labour for free, we might find ourselves wondering why, if the world is capable of mustering so much financial and material firepower to fight Covid-19 and save businesses from going under, it can’t muster it for other purposes."

It would be interesting to break out the impact of social distancing vs. lagging test results on new cases recorded. If the reality of testing in SC is any indication nationwide, there are tens of thousands of tests taken more than a week ago that haven't been processed. That could confound the effectiveness of social distancing in the near term. True attribution could be worked out down the road if test dates are available but it doesn't seem like this is reflected in case count trackers currently publicized.

Great quote. I always ascribe to not making life changing decisions in the heat of stressful situations, but we’d be naive to think a whole bunch of people are effectively deprogramming themselves from the hive mind of modern society and will question just what they had been going on for the last 30 years or so.
Out of all the chaos, the wife and I like eating together again as a family with no after school crap and superfluous demands. Sure I’d like my sociable time back, but I like others not having a hold of my time either.
It’s like I didn’t have to learn the power of saying no. That decision was made for me.
