Certainly one thing #wearetheworld have going for us that the 1918 inquisition didn’t, is technology. Whether later data will support this or not, it’s good that we have the desire and ability to probe into questions like this:

Here's the situation in Crested Butte and Gunnison:
"We are now up to 13 positive,9 negative, and 39 pending test results with 2 patients admitted to GVH.
As of 10:05 AM we have 239 people self-reporting symptoms. "
I think our hospital has 24 beds and 2 respirators, with 2 more on order. Roughly 17,000 people in the county. Even if most of those that are self-reporting are just common colds or flu, those still aren't great numbers...

This came from city (Wuhan) in a country (China) where they have no qualms about running you over with a tank, executing political prisoners so they can harvest their organs for transplants or putting entire ethnic groups into concentration camps as well as building military islands in the middle of the sea.
How about the Virology Institute that is located in - wait - Wuhan. You can't comprehend the very real possibility that with their exemplary record of environmental controls that this shit leaked out. Why did the (Chinese) government go to such great lengths to suppress the existence of the outbreak when it first occurred?
I'm calling this the Chinese Wuhan Flu. You can flame me, you can ban me.
What ever you want to call it; we're f*cked now.

Well, it was. :shrug:
Has anyone else noticed the few cars on the road are driving like Mad Max?
I had to run to my office to get something and while the roads were dead the drivers I did see were meandering in and out of lanes, lights and stop signs were optional and even saw a guy bust a U turn for no reason across 6 lanes of traffic without so much as looking over his shoulder.I still call it The Jake.

In other news, Tom Hanks’s ride on the Orient Express seems to be going smoothly, no bad symptoms.

NY mandates all businesses may not have more than 50% of their work force report;
Ford, GM, Fiat close all US factories;
Simon, the nation's largest mall operator closes all of its properties tonight;
That's a lot of people out of work. Ugh.I still call it The Jake.
