Thanks for replies! Time to send the crazy uncle text. Disappointing thing is my SIL is a nurse, and she doesn't seem to think it's any worse than the flu.

I'm getting it on good authority from SIL friends on Capitol Hill (she was a top Aid to Mccain, Susan Collins and Tom Delay back in day) that full Quarantine is coming this week for non essential workers. I'm told there'll be an Announcement soon with a couple days delay for Everyone to get situated.
BIL is a army ranger afghan vet and said active military is being told to be prepared; National guard will be called in. Road Blocks are already being set up along highways.
I'm always sceptical, but SIL friend said she's been in logistic meetings for this last Couple days and is 100% certain its happening.
I hope I'm wrong, but thought spreading unsubstantiated rumors to my internet ski friends was the right course of action.
Also, BG knights can go fuck himself.

Sister called me yesterday, she has compromised immune system and is 65.
BIL is driving her crazy worrying that he might get her sick.
Wanted to put him on a flight out here. Told her, "no fucking way".I have been in this State for 30 years and I am willing to admit that I am part of the problem.

It is odd to go to the grocery store at 6am and see selfs empty as I thought there restocked at night if stuff was in the store. Good news is I finally scored a 2 pak of Clorox wipes and a 24 pak of TP. O and a handle of Crown Royal and ginger ale for when there is nothing else left.

From Gunnison county HHS: "Our neighboring mountain community of Eagle is currently in a crisis mode, completely overrun with patients. With their 6 patient capacity ICU, they currently have 20 patients in critical condition. They are attempting to transport these individuals out by ambulance to the Denver community. At some point, the large health facilities in Grand Junction and the Denver area will become severely impacted by incoming critically ill patients. In a phone call today to our Incident Management Team, Eagle County EMS strongly exhorted to us as well as Montrose, Chaffee, and Mesa County to plan now to limit the health implications we could face and are attempting to mitigate."
Any of you Eagle county mags want to chime in? Is it really that bad there already?

I think the same. A friend from home is a brigadier in the California national guard and ignored that question when I asked him on FB. He’s also been on base the entire week.

Thought you might like this - so we’re up in PC yesterday evening and a restaurant has a sign on the door saying they’re closed indefinitely as they found out the prior night that one of their employees has COVID-19.
Basically expecting all of PC to be infected within the next couple weeks.

Well, well (or unwell?).
In Europe, borders are closing. Denmark, Estonia, Norway, etc and later on Sunday evening maybe Germany.
So the worst case scenario of border crossings closing not only to civilian traffic, but also commodities, is actualising.
More that few countries have banned all events & public gatherings, Austria currently in the "lead" with 5 people max limit in public gatherings.
So, in short: Shit got Real. Like Real Real.
Estimated time span for the first phase of the "lockdown" is in the 2-3 week range. One can begin to calculate how that affects the supplies like medicines (large part is imported from outside Europe), food ( specialised areas of production) and raw materials.
Been in talks lately with quite a broad variety of individuals from gov/institutions, universities, media & culture industry and the ramifications are going to be fucking brutal...even in this first phase, the next coming weeks. Governmental responses in the next coming 2-3 months are going to dictate wether we turn the clock back 25 years or not. The worst case scenarios that some researchers pan out are VantaBlack in color.
The floggings will continue until morale improves.

That will make the herd panic even more.
NYC restaurant supply stores are being cleaned out now from an eyewitness.
Won't be long before those looking for supplies start coming after yours.

When I was in Costco all the dry cat food was gone except for some brand I never heard of. Oh well.

Fortunately just bought a big bag of dog food and ok on tp. Someone bought all the chicken and sale pasta, though. Assholes.
Also, can you still get regular sick? I think I'm fighting off a regular old head cold from all the traveling but I don't want to say anything to anyone and freak them out. Sneezing, coughing, congestion very very minimal if any. Slight tickle in throat, mostly just when I wake up. Glands slightly swollen maybe. Don't think I have a fever. Just feel like resting this weekend. Shit, maybe it's psychosomatic!
