Hey, I’d like to get 2nd in line for one of those Coombs posters if two happen to get found.
This might be a good place to link my story about that poster and Bill Murray and what a moran I am.

I’ll have to take some photos. I’ve got a signed Warren miller from his last movie tour and a signed Schmidt from when he came to Helena for pink flamingo as ski team fund raiser.

The 'golden era of skiing' posters don't do much for me. Beyond that, lots of great posters here. The irreverant, k2, Freeze magazine vibe represented in some of the posters is really cool.
Below is a classic local poster from Hudson Bay Mountain in Smithers B.C. It can be seen in lots of cabins up at the hill. I took a liking to it and started asking around town about it. My queries led me to a local guy who had taken the original picture it was based on. Old timer told me that he took the shot looking down the lift line. He told me that the artist (whose names eludes me) had done similar posters for Whistler and other big hills down south. The Blackcomb Wizard posted above looks to be of the same mould, perhaps same artist?
Myself and a few other locals try to get out at least once a week for a headlamp mission and this pretty much what we see.

Yep, it's written right there on the bottom of the Ski Smithers poster. I also noticed his signature on the Saudan Couloir poster and the Wizard is surely him as well. Any beta on this dude? Were ski posters a staple of his artistic output? Anyone have other examples. Good thread btw.
