Lotta crowds at Bitsy Grant last week.

Still not as big of a goat rodeo as the Bobby Jones course and range next door. They eventually pulled half of the range spaces because people wouldn’t keep the f apart.

you gotta wonder if the phrasing was intentional ;-)

some of ours never closed (school courts still closed). Doubles play, unless teamed with a household member, is discouraged. I've been playing singles with the "only touch your own balls" rule and it's not as daunting as it may sound, pretty easy to get the other balls back without touching them (unless you were just learning, then it might be a bit tough)

PD opened up on Friday, but on a limited basis. Nervous to see what kind of a mess this weekend will be in general on island.

    Adria Tour
In Belgrade. Cool format with quick matches.
But it sucks not having ad. Big game change.
Ad and deuce and breaking serve was always a big part of tennis

    US Open is on.

Sevastova gets by Gauff in three sets. Lame. Sevastova went mental in the second. Thought Gauff would own the third set. Not to be.

Martic wins a tough three setter too.

I was going to go to the tourney this year. Damn you Covid.

Gauff losing like that is lame.

As is not going to the Open this year, I feel ya Sluff.

This is one event that comes to mind (in any sport) where the crowd is such an integral part of the experience. It’s gonna be one weird tournament.

as Ms. MT is quick to observe, it's easy your freshman year, you bring something new. Once the real pros have seen it and have tape on it, well, its the sophomore/jr yrs that count.

In other news we had our first practice for the fall season last night. I made it through 3 rounds.

Murray. Well done. Pulls out three straight sets to win in five.

Keys in good form so far.

Clearly not intentional, but it was the right call. The pansy move by the officials would’ve been to not default him. The rules gotta apply to everybody. Took balls to kick out the only big name in the entire men’s field that casual fans would recognize.

Not intentional is worse in my mind. He didn't care about anyone else and just hit the ball without any thought. He deserved to go and go on the US Open crew to stick to the rules and send him on his way

Jebus, I go off grid and Mtn biking for a few days and lo and behold we got a canuck in the quarters and potentially more after tomorrow.

On Djoko - that's one way not to have to face Shapo. Very creative. He'd a certainly got his ass handed to him by Denis so may as well hit the linesman. I'd say it was intentional.

Djokovic is a fucking idiot and this isn't the first time he's proven that point. Glad they kicked him out. I'm sure he regretted it a microsecond later but that was no accident.

While I would agree that Djoko is an idiot, there's no way he hit her on purpose. He spazzed, hit it out of frustration, happened to look over there just as he made contact and guess what - ball in throat. In happier news at least we've 2 Canucks still alive. Go Shapo, go Felix!

He knows exactly where everthing and everybody is on the tennis court, and nobody reaches his level without superior peripheral vision. Just bc it was impulsive doesn't mean it wasn't intentional. The throat punch part I can agree was not intended. I bet that stung.

Anyway, done deal. Good luck to the Canadians.

Great match on. Both players hitting at a high level. Shapo needs to keep coming in.
