Good ski for an old beginner?

I’m looking for skis for my dad. He’s 75 and not a very good skier but wants to go out a few times a year with the grandkids.

What’s an easy forgiving ski for an old timer? What size? He’s 6’ 180lbs.

I would look for some old twin tips in decent shape.
Why? They can be lightish, widish, straightish (compared to an old carver), softish, and cheap. Perfect for skidding around with the kids. 175 to 180.

I send old guys and beginners out on the Icelantic Pioneer 96 all the time and they seem to always like it.

This is along the lines of what I’m looking for. We don’t want to spend a lot. So, something that’s a few or several yeRs old but in good shape. Any suggestions on old twin tips to look for? 1080’s? Karmas?
