Never ridden BH proper. Hiked it and assumed its rocky? HP was firing today. Got an early start. Seemed like lots filled early.

My favorite place to ride just got posted no trespassing and apparently it is under an agreement to be sold to a developer. Approximately 120 acres. So bummed. We pretty much just finished the entire network this year and have been now working on improvements. Not all of it will be developed, but the majority. I think one loop will remain and maybe partials here and there...but who knows. If they throw money at the other landowners we could lose it all.

One thing for sure is I'm going to poach the fuck out of it until the dozers start mowing it down. Fucking seacoast cannot keep any open land

The black trails are usually super rocky doubletrack and the blue trails are a mix of rooty doubletrack and less traveled typical NE singletrack that can be found a little further off the beaten path as CantDog has posted. Parts of the black trails are very technical. Like a lot of riding destinations close to the city there are a lot of intersections and finding a good loop to keep pedaling on can be a challenge. Upside was getting 2k vert in with 12 miles riding. Cell phone pics that kinda suck from last week:

BH rocks! More typical New England singletrack on the pond side that is easier to navigate, but the stuff in the park is a real PITA. I still have to follow a gps track to not get lost.

20/20 NE - I can see clearly now

Gave the mtb a rest and hit some gravel and trail. Upped my 1x front ring to 40t and felt strong. 30 miles and 3k of up.

Weather is finally getting good up here.

I was reading about that and wondered if that was your trails. Bummer dude I also read that they may not actu6have the $$ to follow through so it may be a while before saws and dozers get to work.

Is it just here or are the trails in fucking awesome shape everywhere? Between lots of riders doing lots of miles, dirtbikes everywhere and who knows how many people doing trailwork it's amazing. As it dries out there are the inevitable rocks getting knocked loose but that's pretty inconsequential in the big picture.

Trails in great shape! Anyone else find the chipmunks especially active these days? Almost suicidal as they dart in front of my tire.

My (nearly) 7y/o has been really enjoying trail rides, asking to go daily. Have gotten into a fairly regular routine of solo dawn patrol and then lunch lap with her. Nice to have these in backyard and brings new life to my regular trails riding with her

I think you're reading about another spot. Our hasn't had any 'news' yet. Just verbals and signs posted.

It's rabbits for me lately. I missed one by inches the other day. That would have sucked.

Ha yeah I rolled over a rabbit on Tuesday, pissed the little dude off pretty good. It rolled over into the rocks screaming!

Got a good ride planned for later, anyone in the area like Leo want to join? They're your old backyard trails.

I finally was convinced to upgrade my old beat up hardtail and recently picked up a new 2019 Rocky Mountain Altitude on sale from OGE. I can’t believe I dragged my feet for as long as I did, this bike is incredible! After a few days on mellower trails I’ve gotten out for rides at Chamberlain Hill and Perry Hill the last 2 days. I got by butt kicked on both climbs but I’m able to get a few lines relatively cleanly already that I was too intimidated to try on the hardtail. I’m stoked for the rest of the summer! One of me from one of the features on Joe’s.

As much as Strava sucks, I miss looking at my own times on segments. Not really surprised they're trying to monetize.

I toppled over at 0.1mph in a rock garden two seasons ago and tagged my elbow on a rock. Must've chipped the bone because now I still wince if I lean on it wrong.

A couple from last night's ride. First gnarly technical ride of the year but the view was worth it. Click image for larger version.

I find it to be incredibly inaccurate. Not always, but often. My gps makes me look way faster than I really am. And I think Trailforks is a hundred times better for navigation on mtn bike trails. Although, I enjoy the banter amongst friends on strava.

Rad. Just finally able to get more regular rides in as the kids are older and my oldest is absolutely nuts about biking.

Yeah, not using it for navigation but I'm minimally 20% behind friends with gps. Great for tracking miles for maint and training purposes.
