Tubus has some great front racks, they're not inexpensive though.

Seems that you can still come by a Soma front rack on secondary sites for sub $50. Maybe if the gubment sends me a check, I’ll pull the plug.

Spectacular 40 mile mixed surface ride today. Found some beautiful dirt roads in Addison County. Took more vid than pics though.

VT-F on the other side if that ridgeline.

The mailman delivered my custom gilet made by a friend. Could have used it on the ride as the sun was behind the clouds most of the time.

Thanks. As I said before, I drank the Kool-Aid with Grant. It's a Bridgestone XO-1 clone I had Carl build with modern tubing, disc brakes, and travel couplers. The Disc brakes allow easy wheel swaps between 26", 650b, and even 700c. If I could only keep one, this would be it.

Looks like rain this week.

Looks like it should be dry for the next week or so, springtime breezy and mixed clouds should mean everything blooms and we have more hero dirt as it dries out. Go git sum 🚵♂️

Yup. And here comes the pollen...and the bugs! I feel like I have a better head start this year with the bugs tho. Usually I'm not in decent bike shape this early and the bugs are my personal trainers to get my ass up the climbs much quicker. So yeah, bring on those phuckers!

43 miles near Richmond/Hinesburg/Monkton today. Dirt roads are still pretty wet.

Watched a lady in a RAV tear pieces off her under carriage through that. Good times.

Never thought I’d see a boat in one of the class IV dumping grounds, but here it is.

Bring on the dry dirt!

Great day to ride but the fork for my new rig showed up so my afternoon was spent doing final tweaks on my new toy. Really hoping for dry trails this weekend.

You could have waited for the bike ferry, should be running by June.

Ferry starts Memorial Day. We’ve done the 3 ferry ride a few times. Looking forward to some bikepacking up to the state parks.

Yeah it’s low, long and slack for sure but that’s how trail bikes are in 2020, I guess. I got the frame late last fall and have been piecing it together all winter. Built it with a Lyrik, XT 12 speed, Race Face/Hope wheels, PNW dropper and Race Face Atlas bits. Gotta support the local economy in these tough times, amiright?

I’m curious to see how you like the shock setup compared to the original HT. Going from a G1 to G2 Bronson, I was actually really impressed with the difference in the revised linkage. I’m dying to throw my leg over the new frame with lower linkage.

I hope to get it on the trail this weekend if weather cooperates so I'm very anxious to compare to my OG HT. My one complaint with the old HT was the small bump sensitivity and the lower link VPP is suppose to address this. After riding it around on some dirt roads quick last night, the new geo is great; steep seat tube and long reach make manualing easy and climbing is still and stable even with the shock open. I also went from a L to an XL after the shop convinced me to size up with the new geo. I was skeptical but the reach on the L wouldn't have been enough.

Just when you think modern bikes can't get better they do......they get a lot better.
